Gee, I saw A7R refurb for $1280 1 month ago. LOL now $1600 seems a bit steep for it. A7 kit (with zoom lens!) sells for $922 open box in bestbuy. Why should A7R be more than $1200? no reason. Sometimes this “news” are a bit OLD. 🙂

With all the hoopla about the A7rII, I hope prices on the A7r come crashing down – I think I’d like to get one. The IQ specs will make it a real bargain and I can do without IBIS for now.
I see Sony not putting IS in future lenses soon to be able to keep lenses smaller and lighter and to keep cost down although I’m sure they will not pass those savings on so if you have IS in your current lenses then not an issue
Nice to see price coming down. With IBiS now I suspect Sony will not include IS in future lenses. As they know they need to make their lenses smaller and lighter as so far no F 2.8 zoom for example like 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8. And it makes more sense not to have to replicate IS all over the place which adds weight and size and cost to each lens
IS works much better inside lens for long focal lengths
And without news about A7000. 🙁

A7 is still real good.
There are lots of 2nd hand cameras that I’d consider getting for the right price, since the last couple of years the image quality is not earth-shatteringly different to the current generation — but the problem is, the Sony A7R Mark 1 had shutter shock vibration problems, even acknowledged by Sony.
when you can use flash with flash AF assist, then its time to start buying a7x – if you need something cheap and amazing get an a6000.
Will continue with my A7 instead and not buy a shutter issue.
