  1. If you listen very closely you can hear the Tamron a-mount lens assembly line shutting down. And me weeping. I don’t want an a7x… I want an upgrade to my a99 to leverage my investment in Zeiss glass.

  2. If you listen very closely you can hear the Tamron a-mount lens assembly line shutting down. And me weeping. Is a-Mount body development really over with? I don’t want an a7x… I want an upgrade to my a99 to leverage my investment in Zeiss glass. I hope the mainstream media pick this up and force an official statement on the matter because this is ridiculous behaviour from Sony to its best and oldest customers. Heck it’s our fanatical word of mouth that has sold more a7/a7r/a7s bodies globally than Sony’s abysmal marketing has- you can bet on that! To give up a-mount is a deadly mistake I hope they don’t make. They have so much to gain by continuing and so much to lose by stopping. Sony doesn’t need to fear a shrinking DSLR market- it needs to redefine it with new tech. Sony are in a better position than Nikon or Canon to do it- especially with the Zeiss lens catalogue and sensor IP. If Sony release a killer a-mount body with feature set as whole new reason to own a DSLR over an a7ii, they will create a whole new top tier space for themselves with competitive advantage over everyone.

    1. Me too. I’m trying to contact some camera websites to persuade them to ask Sony executives what the hell is going on with A-mount. Quesabesde released an article talking about the bipolarity of Sony. Hope they keep digging further into the matter.

  3. What I want is that sweet 18-35mm 1.8 sigma for Sony A mount. Perfect on the A77II. One of the few zooms that not only replaces a line up of primes, but out performs them along the way. I gotta have it!

    1. +1
Sometimes I wish I never bought the Sony 16-50/2.8. That Sigma is a very nice lens, and difference in zoom between 35mm and 50mm is almost non-existent.

  4. They are making the new Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD in A Mount & also the 150-600mm is made in A Mount as well, so I don’t see any reason to believe that they are giving up on the A Mount system. Just trying to move some inventory, as are most manufacturers in the camera industry right now. I think everyone is crying wolf over nothing.
