Current NX300 vs A6000 (CameraSize).
Redcrow and SamsungCameraRumors are spilling out info about the next Samsung NX400 camera that should be announced in January/February.
– Same 28MP NX1 sensor
– Same NX1 autofous system
– Built-in EVF
– smaller buffer than nx1 but triple than nx300.
– 4K recording (although not 100% sure yet)
– no weather sealed body
– Price around $900 with kit lens.
Those features would push the NX400 in direct competition with the Sony A6000. But if the price gets confirmed it’s quite above the $798 you spend now for the A6000 double lens kit!

That’s what I always wanted from NX. So if this comera comes out, I will buy to complement my existing NX lenses and my future Nikon D750 system.
The NX1 is just too expensive and big for a mirrorless APS-C system camera, in fact it competes in price and weight with the (imo much better) D750. It doesn’t make sense to me to buy a NX1 when for 130€ more I can buy a D750, while it would make much sense to buy a smaller camera with EVF for less money, being invested in NX system already.
So, if and only if these specs of NX400 prove to be real, I’ll buy it.
you remind me of a parrot. loudly talks too much but does nothing.
“Future Nikon D750 system”… Someone please pinch me! I must be trapped in a parallel dimension where Tecnoworld is saying that he is going to buy one of these large DSLRs with a flapping mirror and huge lenses to go with it…
BTW, how’s the eye-tracking on the D750… ?
😉
is that the same poster that always complain a lot about dslr cameras and wanted a rangefinder camera? if he’s the one, then he’s a real tool.
Yes, he is that guy…. ?
The price should depend very much on which lens is the “kit” lens for the samsung Nx400. The kit lenses for the A6000 are indecent. So if the Samsung offers a good kit lens, I’m more than willing to pay the premium
All there kits are better than Sony equivalents so they can take there pick.
So you can now buy the A6000 with decent collapsible kit zoom, plus the Sony long zoom, plus two filters, a spare battery, a case, a few other odds and ends, for $748… plus the Sigma 30mm for $150 (which I just did in an Amazon flash sale), which totals the $900 that Samsung is asking for.
Without the mind share that Sony enjoys in this space, Samsung will find it hard to compete.
Samsung may have great products, but its best strategy right now is to just buy the market… in the same way Sony did when it took over Minolta-Konica in digital SLRs vs the competition, and in the same way Sony is doing today to just manhandle the mirrorless competition when it comes to price.
> – Price around $900 with kit lens.
Sammy should do what no other manufacturer does at the moment: kits with pancake lenses.
Yeah because Olympus and Panasonic don’t sell body kits with various pancake lenses….
A7000 is coming early 2015.
Sony out with yet more bodies. Where are the new E mount lenses ???????? Where are more Sony branded E and FE lenses???????
When Samsung starts pumping out Moore lenses Sony will loose many customers When it comes to lenses and Touch LCD Sony just does not listen to the customers So m43 and Fuji and Samsung will do good. Sony could really hurt the competition but as they are not listening to customers things will stay as is
Sounds great! Hope they update the 30mm lens as well. I’d love to see an expansion of their pancakes. I love the 30, but it’s just so sluggish and not so good for video. I’ll buy a year or two down the road when priced under $500 :).
Yes, I’d really love to see a 70mm f2 pancake. Pentax makes a wonderful 70f2.4 it would be nice to see something like that from Samsung
Is your firmware up to date? Improve s things slightly
I guess the extra price tag is due to 4k. My fear is it will have minimal manual controls. The A6000 has some but there is no Touch LCD. We need both for those who do not like Touch then they could turn off but so many out there that appreciate both I just think Samsung need to be more aggressive on pricing to compete with Sony Now Sony will release a A7000 soon so I suspect it will beat the specs of the Samsung. But of course priced around $1200 or around the price the old Nex was
