Our reader Aloisius Ilic sent us his Nikon FF renderings. I think Nikon should hire that guy 🙂

  1. I like the design. Any camera company would be smart to hire Aloisius.

I do agree with others that a little slope around the shutter would be good, maybe a larger shutter button; also, shutter speed closer to the side so it can be easily reached by a thumb or index finger. These are things that are hard to know for sure without a physical mock-up. Can anyone spare a 3D printer, collaborate with Aloisius?

  2. That looks even worse than the SL. A good grip is concave where your fingers rest inside it so you can hold it securely with one hand, and those sharp edges… You’d come home at the end of a shoot having tons of blisters and having dropped the camera a few times. Weird controls too.

  3. I don’t see the point of ‘wishing’ for such an A7-clone from Nikon, except for blind brand-loyalty.

The A7II / A7RII cameras look nearly the same and work great with Nikon lenses after the firmware upgrade. Why wait?

  4. Looks like Sony A7 and Leica SL. I like those cameras for their performance in spite of their looks. I hope a FF Nikon or Canon mirrorless takes a different path.

  5. Is this mirrorless or dslr? What would be the mirror box is the same thickness as the rest of the body. So either the body is way too thick or it is mirrorless or the designer forgot about something called flange distance
