I have three short Sony news to report today:
1) One source reports the Sony A6xxx launch got again(!) delayed til early 2016. The reason seems to be the unexpected huge amount of A7rII preorders that Sony has to fulfill. Capacity has to be used to produce more units. Also because Sony has a higher win margin on those kind of cameras. Plus sensor production is already at 100% so even there they have to limit the production of new camera sensors.
2) The A7rII firmware got updated. But still no 14Bit RAW yet. More at SonyAlphaRumors.
3) Sony is working to improve their phase detection autofocus. A new patent has been spotted by Egami that can double the current autofocus speed! More at Imaging Rsource.

That doesn’t make sense. Discontinue one of the older models to free up capacity then.
Kind of agree, are they still making a6000’s?
I think they still are, but if they’re largest in need of production capacity then it may be ok without it.
God I hope not, the A6000 would be 2 years old by then. Even Canon refreshes their APS-C line more often than that.
Look at that heatsink! At last, only 50% of the sensor will be overheating.
PS: “Win margin”. We should use this phrase more often.
Sony are focusing on 35mm sensor cameras and lenses, it’s not a surprise.
Sony should take the samsung nx1 which your rumors say is now discontinued, and call it a6100. It would be a big hit 😉
It’s time to buy Fuji or Canon which is releasing this year a new APS-C mirrorles. Bye bye Sony.
K, bye.
