Wow, another samsung camera with the same old 20mp sensor 🙂 what a piece of news!
So, let’s see. Basically, a stripped down nx300 (which is more than one year old and now costs much less than the announced price for nx3000), with no pdaf, worse display, less controls, no 60fps at fhd, lower max shutter speed, slower continuous shooting.
Exciting.
P.s. now I see why samsung is voluntarily NOT implementing evf pro in nx300. To sell some of its ‘new’ nx3000. Smart marketing decision indeed!
I find this as a very nice improvement in comparison with NX2000. I like the physical buttons and tilting screen. Also the new kit lens looks great. You are right that price is quite high now but I hope it will get lower.
I agree about the kit lens. It’s small and probably quite good.
But the problem is that ppl seriously looking into a ‘dedicated’ camera system (I mean those not satisfied by a smartphone camera or by a 100€ p&s) need much more and different features from those that samsung insists to offer.
Sony and fuji are both much more in line with the market, and this is why ppl are so interested in their products (and – on average – uninterested in nx line).
Then go buy into the A or X system, your on every Samsung release saying the same thing!! You bought into the NX system looking for a rangefinder styled camera with a high end EVF!! im sorry but that was clearly your mistake.
You like everybody else has seen samsung pyramid and this is one of the very entry level caemras so its not surprising that it has less features then the NX300, Samsung should be applauded for giving its entry level camera the very much liked NX300 sensor and the NX300 is a year old so its not surprising it slightly cheaper then this ITS TECHNOLOGY, it happens with EVERY company when the bring out new cameras.
The same sensor was already in the much older and cheaper nx1000/1100…why don’t you get informed before posting? I actually know everything about nx, since I (unfortunately) invested into this system 3 years ago.
@ Tecno:
Yes, you are right. Its the same sensor technology with only some minor adjustments (expect PDAF) since the relase of the NX210.
But what is wrong with that? It’s still one of the best sensors of the market – and don’t come with DXO now – if there is any difference of 0.5 DR or 1/3 ISO this is totaly petty for the real life.
By the way: every company is doing so… You can’t expect a major step upwards every year or two. This will never happen due to some technical issues.
I really don’t now why you don’t understand this!?
You try to beat against a company again and again because YOU are unhappy with their products for your personally use. This is the reason why you got banned from Dpreview Forum.
And no, its not because your are complaining (there are several other negative posts) – it was because of your annoying and unobjective behavior !!!
For sure – there are better bodys for your field of application. But it’s not Samsung fault that YOU bought a wrong product.
But Samsung is doing better and better. They upgraded theier Bodys step bye step und the lense line is on of the best and cheapest (at the same time) on all systems!
Maybe you can remember: there was a time, there were lenses much more important than bodys…
Every system has it’s strengh and weakness – there is no perfect System.
And please stop comparing street price and introductory price – this is not valid and it’s not valid on every product…
Ah… And for your information:
Please have a look at amazon best sellers… NX is everytime under top 10 (at least in Germany).
And… Do you ever have been to Asia (expect Japan)? I’ve been there for 6 Month in the last 3 years. There I saw a lot of people usinf NX gear. Don’t think that you or Europe is the hub of the world.
But i have a question for you:
Did you ever tried more than point and shoot? I never saw any picture taken bye you. A little strange for a guy that complaints 24/7 over his bad gear…
Im still confused why you didn’t buy into the Nex or Fuji X system when they seem to offer everything you needed??
I worked for Samsung Cameras between 2011 through 2013 and now for Panasonic so i certainly know what im talking about but i have a Fuji X-E1 because i did my research and knew that that camera offers me what im looking for.
The NX line has a clear target audience with 95% of their cameras so if you buy into it then the mistake lands at your door
I invested about 1800€ in nx lenses and thus it’s a bit unconfortable, for me, to switch from one day to another. I’m still hoping that samsungcan see the light and present a decent body, like the nx100 was for its times, butmy hopes are getting lower and lower. I gave me time till half 2015. After that, I’ll go with the best among sony and fuji, if no rangefinder is out from samsungwith a new competitive sensor.
So, even if you like so much samsung, you wisely have a x-e2. Good for you. If I didn’t buy suchlenses as the 60 and 85mm, I’d have already switched towards the much better x system.
Preorder price – $479. Wow. And I was wondering what’s new!
It’s the cheapest – as MSRP goes – mirrorless kit I’m aware of.(*) I wonder how low street price would go.
(*) Except of course the infamous Sony A3000.
Sony RX100 or Fuji X20 are good cameras, but this with the very small 16-50 is surely a way better choice image quality wise if you don´t need such a minuscule camera nor a EVF. Also, pricing is fantastic and probably, pocketable enough.
Added to my comment: The kit lens offered for $479 in BH is the old good 20-50 lens, not the new 16-50 lens. The price for the 16-50 power zoom kit (source: dpreview) is $529, also very good. I´d take the 16-50 as I don´t want anything with less than 24 mm wide.
” I´d take the 16-50 as I don´t want anything with less than 24 mm wide.”
And most of us don’t need yet another copy of the 20-50mm 🙂
This is good news from the statndpoint of Samsung’s claim to be the Mirrorless Market Leader in the next two to three years.
They are broadening their product line from Entry to ‘Pro’ quickly.
I just upgraded to the NX30 and use my WB250F as my compact.
I recently decided to trade all of my extensive Nikon gear for a second NX30 for my back-up and some NX glass, all due to the quality and pricepoint that Samsung offers.
