    1. The external viewfinder should not be just “optional” but sold in the same box with the camera. I am bored to see so many cameras with a way overpriced external viewfinder.

      1. You’re probably right, perhaps there should be two versions of the package, one ‘full’, with a bundled evf, one cheaper (say 100-150$ less) without it.

But absolutely no decent camera should come without the option of a high res external evf.

        1. “no decent camera…” I think you are too radical here. Some very small “pocketable” cameras maybe are too small to have any viewfinder, but inexcusably they must at least have a tilting screen. For this reason Sony´s RX100 was only a very expensive P&S toy, while the still expensive RX100 II or the new Samsung NXF1 are cameras far more interesting.

          1. Yes, but having the option is always nice, I think. My reasoning is that inserting a small plug in a camera does not make its size much bigger (probably any bigger at all). There should be the option for any camera that could be used to make high quality pictures.

Such cameras as the samsung nx300, that do not have the option at all, are a real shame, imo.

  1. This sounds like a bit of a step down to me – I mean the external EVF. It usually makes camera larger than it would be with a built-in one. Swivel LCD is a welcome addition (I would love to have it on my V1).

18 Mpix from 1″ sensor – let’s see about that. The 12 in V1 (I know, way older sensor) were just right for its technology (= clear and detailed pictures at low and mid ISO).

And of course let’s see about the price 🙂

    1. About the evf, I’d say that it depends on how much you use it. If you want to use it for most of your shots, than integrated evf is of course the best choice.

If you want it just for some specific occasions (shooting in bright sunlight, or with specific lenses, for instance) than the option is good, since it allows to have a smaller body for when you don’t need it and the nice external evf when you need it.

      1. The person that gave me the negative comment could please explain why? Is having the option of an external evf a bad thing for you? Do you prefer not to have the choice? Please let me know.
