ugly kid joe ….
That’s not a G camera!!!! No manual dials, poor grip, and tiny space for tiny battery…
I think the same. Look at recent G1x: loads of manual controls (exposure compensation, front dial…), fully articulated LCD, and much chunkier. This looks like a much simpler camera, not the top compact from Canon.
Nothing learned Canon! … a bulky camera with useless built-in lens cover, no internal EVF, no fully articulated LCD? … uninspired design! …bye bye Canon …

True this camera lacks some manual controls (EVF and fully articulated screen are no priority for me)
But Im totally surprised how canon can put a 24-120m F2-3,9 lens in front of a larger than MFT Body!
This lens looks hardly larger than the one on my RX100, but its brighter and this camera has a much larger sensor.
This camera will clearly have more DOF than any standard DSLR with kit lens, more zoom, better low light performance,… I was thinking about buying the RX10, but if this one doesnt hav any major flaws i will BUY it.
First I doubt what we see is real (f2 lens for almost-APSC sensor would be much bigger). But even if it was, the handling and ergonomics will be terrible: just one mode dial and this is it. No front or rear control dial, no exposure comp., nothing. Controls just like a 150 EUR point&shoot.
It’s not APS-C, It’s a 1,5” sensor just like the previous generation
I know, that´s why I wrote “almost-APSC”. But the difference is not big, see here: http://j.mp/1glMMpd
Too bad it doesnt have a filter thread.
There is a small button “MF” at the right side of the screen. Is possible this button could make focus ring act as an aperture ring? Maybe this little camera still hides some surprises..
