Leica Monochrome to be announced tomorrow (Thursday).

I have yet no specs but a Leica source just told me the camera will be announced tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what kind of sensor the new camera will use. I once heard Sony made a monochrome FF sensor. Maybe the new Leica will use it?

  1. [I once heard Sony made a monochrome FF sensor.]
All sensors are monochrome, the bayer array makes it a “color” sensor.
Ok the Foveon sensors are real color sensors… 🙂

  2. Since the old Leica M Monochrom used the same CCD sensor as M9, but without the Bayer array, then the new version probably uses the CMOS sensor from M (Typ 240), again without the Bayer array.
