Leica announced a Silver version of their M Monochrome camera. It will ship in very limited numbers from late May already.
With the market launch of the Leica M Monochrom around two years ago, Leica set a ground-breaking milestone in the field of black-and-white digital photography. The M Monochrom is known as the ideal tool for photographers who appreciate black-and-white photography as an expressive medium. In genres from reportage photography and available-light shooting to discreet, artistically aesthetic compositions, the camera adapts flexibly to every need and delivers convincingly exceptional imaging results in every situation.

Dear Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sigma and Samsung: First one to steal the Leica industrial design team wins! Go!
Dear Fuji: Just keep doing what you’re doing, but hurry up with that organic sensor and XPro2.
Samsung is the only among all the mirrorless systems w/o a rangefinder option with evf in a corner. It’s incredible that they don’t understand how much this design is loved by the ppl on the market for a mirrorless camera. So I agree with you here.
Fuji is one step further than others, for sure.
Canon, Nikon and Pentax-Ricoh, also don´t have any mirrorless system camera with rangefinder style design. Maybe you love Japanese and hate Koreans? 😉
I don’t own a single japanese camera, so you’re absolutely wrong. I don’t consider canikon being in the mirrorless market as I intend it (eg high quality cameras) and Pentax has just one discontinued system (k-01) and a tiny sensored one (q).
Sony, fuji and m4/3 have all plenty of rangefinder options and this is one of the reasons for them to shine (as the op wisely recognized).
“I don´t consider canikon being in the mirrorless market as intend it”. Really a funny and ridiculous explanation. And you can give me some negatives again. I don´t mind as I don´t make a living posting here ;-).
I never called your posts ridicolous, even when clearly wrong. So you are a rude person that deserves negatives.
Not ridicolous imo is the obvious fact that canon and nikon do not want their mirrorless offer to internally cannibalize their dslr cameras, thus their product are either a small sensored cameras (nik) or subpar in almost everything (can). So no surprise they are not serious there.
Sony, fuji and m43 are serious about mirrorless and they have rf options since they know that most ppl looking for this particular kind of cameras want small bodies, evf, great performance and great iq.
I’m assuming that by “rf” you mean “evf where ovf-rf usually is”? I do prefer that position for evf, too, but I wouldn’t consider that essential. Often it’s nice to be able to use my nose to stabilize, and the small bodies make it so that you can have both eyes open even with the center evf. It’s more aesthetic than functional, for me. (The GX7’s tiltable evf is awesome, of course!)
Also, I would give Nikon 1 a lot more credit than you do. First of all, I wouldn’t fault any line for their sensor size. Second of all, I consider the lens line-up more important than sensor size or evf, and Nikon has not been completely negligent in that. Going back to your original point, Samsung’s lens line-up is pretty darn good, in fact.
I’ve said a few times before, I’m more interested in the future of mirrorless as a collective, and not so into pitting one brand against another.
> I don’t own a single japanese camera
So, what mirrorless camera do you own?
I am constantly surprised at how efficient my E-M5 is in the daily grind.
Still if it had a RF size, and streamlined menus a’ la Leica, it would offer even more haptic pleasure.
But that’s a choice among others: my interest is in the mirror-free category as a whole. Think that compact cameras got it from the start. Not fearing the concept for higher level cameras was a great decision from P & O. to enter the history of the industry. But it could go much further yet.

I own three samsung nx cameras (nx100,200 and 300). I’d love a rangefinder alike model from them.
m4/3 doesn’t have plenty of rangefinder options. The GX7 is the only one with an EVF in the corner.
waaaaaay @tecnoworld even comes on a Leica article to troll samsung #obsessed
And you are here to troll me, so you’re obsessed by me? 🙂
I don’t think Olympus has one either.
Which is why I left my E-PL5 (after much waiting and hoping) and fell into the arms of a GX-7.
And we now enjoy so much finding happy photographs together.
It is also why I have ordered a Sony A6000 as my black & white camera (with a Kolari infra-red conversion).
Bliss will be unbounding!
Yup, I was considering m43 as a whole.
