In essence, NEX is dead. Even though not a fan, sad to see it happens. Especially after a rather good release, like the A6000, which addressed lots of previous complains.

One can only hope that I’m wrong. But the state of the APS-C cameras overall, especially looking from the native lens perspective, is rather poor, whatever brand you take. Fuji X is the only bright spot.

    1. stop spreading bs, the nex name was replaced by alpha, the a5000 replaced the nex3n, the a6000 the nex6 etc, the ex nex and now alpha is pretty good and nº1 in the mirrorless cameras.

    2. NEX isn’t really dead. It’s just not very lively. They still haven’t convinced me through their rag tag line of lenses that they care. It would make sense that they changed the name to consolidate their brand names and remove any fake connection (and confusion) Samsung made by naming their mirror-less line NX.

Sony are more dedicated to the A7 series and the FE lenses, which is good because I’ve begun to wonder if Sony would just drop still photography one day without a mention.

      1. People seem to have forgot that Samsung entered the mirrorless ILC market before Sony did. The NX system was launched before the NEX, so any name confusion was caused by Sony.
