    1. Because they are two different lenses for completely different purposes (although they have similar focal length). I have the fuji 56 and it is astonishingly good for portraits however it is not a macro lens. Fuji currently offer a macro 60mm so this is competing with that (better as it is 1:1 and fuji is not 1:1) hopefully fuji will update or release a macro lens with 1:1 but for now if you are into macro photography this is your best option.

      1. Ah! It doubles as a macro! Sorry, I get it now 🙂

I do street photography with the 56mm too. Different perspective.

  1. really ? The fuji 56 1.2 has much more to offer…it may not be macro…but from what I understand macro lenses are not the best choice for portraiture…plus the 56 is 1.2…and will be reduced very soon…I am on board with fuji…I think the fuji lenses work better with the x cameras than the Zeiss lenses…I rented the zeiss 32 and was not impressed…there are better choices…fuji is making very nice glass at nice prices

    1. Saying “it may not be a macro” is like saying “the Ferrari LaFerrari is much better, it may not be a camera lens, but from what I understand a camera lens is no the best choice for portraiture.” A macro lens is for macro photography, and the Fuji 60 isn’t capable of 1:1.

    2. ????
fuji 56 1.2 has much more to offer? like what? 😀

if you shoot people mostly then yes, 56/1.2 is better FOR YOU.
if you shoot still life, macro, flower mostly, i think lens with 1:1 magnification rate is FAR BETTER than what you state above.
