VIDEO: Enter the Japanese Sendai Fujifilm Factory with the Fuji Guys and see how the XF35mmF2 WR is Assembled!

Take a Tour with Fuji Guys Billy & Mark and see how the XF35mmF2 WR is assembled at the Japanese Sendai Factory.

Curiosity: at minute 4:05, Mark stands in front of the inspection area, where the IQ of the XF35mmF2 WR is tested after the assembling. If you wonder why Mark says “we can’t show you the inspection area. It’s highly confidential“, then maybe it’s because they are testing how the 35mm performs on a 24MP sensor X-Pro2 😉 .

And in case you missed it, you might also be interested to go inside the Fuji factory again and see Manufacturing Story of Fuji X-T10.

    1. to see this kind of manufacturing quality control is spectacular, i can’t imagine a complaint, what is your mixed feeling about ?

      1. The video production quality, the childishness, etc. Would have liked to see more in depth actually. Looks like this was just a ride along on some tour bus. The Fuji Guys aside, the way Fuji themselves is doing all these things by hand is great of course, though i wish i could say the same about their repair service here in Europe where quality control is way way below standard. Not to mention all of the Fuji’s i have had to be repaired in the first place, once OR twice. So doing things by hand may not be synonymous with quality control .. but i guess it’s all worth it, as there is no system i like better and they are unique in many ways.

  1. I’ve been using the GX680III and associated lenses for my latest commercial shoots. It’s a camera that’s almost 20 years old. But even though its lenses cover much larger image circles, they are sharp even today, on 50mp MF backs.

So, I have no worries that today’s lenses, which must undergo more rigorous testing, are at least up to that level.

  2. fantastic beautiful to see such passion and quality control, fuji glass really is special stuff, wonder why this tour has not been broadcast before ??

  3. I highly doubt they are testing it on an X-Pro2. They are very likely using specialised equipment with much higher accuracy than a 24 MP sensor can offer. This is not about testing a lens prototype, this is about perfect alignment of the glass and correct AF behaviour. As far as I can remember Nikon also kept that part secret in one of their videos. Seems like the knowledge for fast and accurate testing of the assembled product is still something they want to keep to themselves.

  4. I like to see more movies with the “Fuji Girls” as seen in the beginning of the movie.
Only forbid them to ask the question: “Available in pink ?”
