On September 16, Apple will release iOS9 for iPhone and iPad. As many out there, I’ve also received a notification from Fujifilm, saying that Fuji Camera Remote APP will not be supported. However, Fuji is working on it and a new update will come soon.

Considering they’ve had access to the new iOS 9 development kit since June, I find this unacceptable. Then again, the iOS app needs a rewrite in general.
It runs fine on iOS 9.1 beta 🙂
Same here.
Ahhhh that’s why I can’t connect to my X30.
Fuji really needs to offer an iOS/Addroid SDK or publish an API for their X camera’s WIFI. There is a lot of potential in letting users and developers extend the limited feature of their existing app and it would help keep their platform current.
Absolutely agree – Make the current app open source and give it to the public domain. Then if any code out of the current app is used the app should be made available for free.
An SDK for the Wifi, could also make wireless tethering available.
Sure – file transfer over wifi is slower, but no tripling over any loose cables.
I wish Fuji would release two versions of the x100 successor. One with a faster lens and a bigger size just like the Leica Q and one even more compact than the current x100t . Something of the size of x30 but with a fixed 28mm lens and a hybrid viewfinder. Something that can fit into the pocket and can be carried with your all the time. GR with a hybrid viewfinder.
Used it with ios 9.1 and the x100t this weekend. Worked fine.
Does it also work on iOS 9.1 beta 3? Can’t make it work
I need a windows phone version… I really hope Fiji will do it (maybe as Universal App for Windows 10). Please Fuji do it!
Yes, iOS 9.1 does work. 9.0 does not. But as a beta tester since the beginning of the beta, this is one of the few apps that (still) has problems with the new iOS. A bit disappointing.
Won’t be updating my phone or iOS anytime soon. So don’t care. Current operating system is good enough.
Don’t think this is a Fuji issue. As a developer with access to the beta versions. I have been running the same fuji app that worked with iOS8, broke with iOS9 beta, and works again with iOS 9.1 beta.
iOS 9 beta caused issues with tethering on certain devices as well as other issues.
And just because a company has access to the SDK doesn’t mean they are going to update the app for the public considering iOS 9 is still not officially released.
They had enough time to update the app. Kind of disappointing from Fuji. But then as others say, an open source SDK would be even better.
either way, i’ve got both platforms. but what I would really like is for the app to work similary to Panasonic’s take. it is by far the best implementation of any wireless mobile app i’ve experienced.
Haha, well that is on you. iOS 8 must be one of the buggiest versions yet (still on 8.4.1!). I am running 9.1 beta and to be honest, it is MUCH better. My battery even last the entire day now! And if the Fuji app not working is a deal breaker, sign up for the beta program and install 9.1 beta
Let’s hope they take this opportunity to rewrite the whole thing. It looks and feels like an Android app, not much kaizen love here. But then again, Fuji does not seem to put much effort into software either, so not much high hopes for anything other than a bug fix…..
Spot on it. On my iPad, it takes really a lot of trial and error to make the connection work… and keep it working. I never could never make it work on a second iOS device. Also, what a silly idea to only provide the option to make the camera appear as a hub and not allow communication over an existing Wifi-network (what most people would expect). Same with the PCAutoSave tool on Mac – what a poorly designed program, this must be the work of a beginning programmer created on lazy Sunday afternoons – I never managed to transfer more than 25 RAF files in the most nerve-killing slow manner without having it crashed somewhere. The camera can also ‘remember’ only one SSID. In my eyes this makes the complete Fuji Wifi-support a completely useless feature and that is really a pity.
