Meyer Optik launched this Kickstarter campaign to bring back the Soap Bubble Bokeh Trioplan f2.8/100. The first lenses will be available within 2015 (as we already said in this FR-post) and cost $1,400.

Here a sample of the “soap bubble” bokeh, shared at the FR-facebook page by FR-reader Jennifer with her [shoplink 35749 ebay]Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Primoplan 58mm 1.9[/shoplink]

The bokeh looks amazing! I guess the optic quality is at its best, for that price.
If Meyer-Optik wants to reuse their old lens design, there are others that’ll be a better choice.
You do realize that this is a rehoused $80 Chinese lens, don’t you?
My $20 JC Penny 135 f2.8 does the same thing and is just as sharp.
supersharp at 2.8 and fast autofocus, I would pay 1000euros for that
