Why the F… not make it as E mount then ?! ohhh god… why companies don’t see an opportunity here to make fortune on E mount lenses ?! seriously SIGMA, TAMRON ! jsut put a freaking extending tube to your legendary 15-30 f2.8 and art line up lenses and baaam there you go money raindance !
If it’s a manual focus lens, then why would you want it in e-mount? By keeping it M-Mount, it allows the user to adapt it to a variety of mirrorless camera systems. (For example fuji, oly, and future mirrorless developments from nikon/canon.)
As for putting extending tubes on SLR lenses like the tamron 15-30, I could agree with that sentiment to some degree. They would be massive lenses, but add variety to our the FE system which is lacking in the lens lineup department.

I want to clarify that I am talking about this lens on A7R. The lens seems OK on A7, A7II and A7S.
ok on the a7? the vignetting is too heavy (for me).
i would only use it on the a7S!
What a stupid statement…you haven’t even touched the lens. I tell you what, I bet you build quality and image quality is as good or better than anything else in the price range for a 15mm lens…

I don’t know what other 15mm lens at the same price can be compared, but if you think this lens worth $750 for this image quality, your bar is really low.
I have a slight tickling feeling, that very soon- we will have Helios 44M lens in FE mount for only 1299$.

I can see there’s huge chromatic aberration, you’ve removed it in photoshop but it’s left a great big grey line around stuff. Also, the lens isn’t designed for the sony cameras. SAW keeps talking crap. It was designed for digital cameras, yes, but it wasn’t specifically designed for the sony cameras. If it were, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have an m-mount. I know this is a rumour site but there’s a difference between posting other people’s rumours and making up your own rubbish
I should add, I’m judging this from the super low resolution. Apparently you trust the lens so much that you’ll only upload a low resolution photograph

Ok, at the risk of inviting more abuse… here is my first shot on the A7R. It is processed in LR to reduce Vignetting and CA, but I have to say I do like the result, especially for the size of the lens (the Sony 16-35 might be better, but it’s huge, and there really is no alternative)
