(SR4) Some more HX60 and WX350 successor camera info.

dsc-hx60v-1

I got some info about the new Sony fixed lens compact cameras (Thanks A.!):

1) HX60v successor will be essentially the same camera but smaller. It will be the size of the existing WX350 and include a viewfinder (TZ61 like).
2) WX350 will also be updated to include 30x Zoom without viewfinder.

  1. Im glad and relieve at this moment because the recently rumuor to be announce new sony fixed lens compact was not from the RX series which is assemble and made from ROC which is very disappointing start from RX100ii and RX100M3 , many major camera manufacture from the rising sun country still retain its quality of its originality as such Fujifilm , Canon
or even lens producer Sigma was a good example.

    1. I don’t think so, at least the current one doesn’t. It’s a shame I think, because the camera has so much going for it to be a pocketable travel zoom camera for both amateurs and enthusiasts. I’d get the camera in a heartbeat if it took RAW photos.

  2. RX200 w/ F1.0 24-120mm or bigger sensor, near A6000 focusing, touch screen, pop up EVF w/ backside flash, hot shoe, 1/8000 shutter, ND filter…

  3. I wonder if hx60 successor will do RAW. I think it s nice it will a small EVF No need for large fancy one but something that helps when LCD does not work well It is a compact :). I have HX60 and zoom amazing but no RAW. iQ ok a bit over processed sometimes so RAW would be nice and a tilt LCD and the menu system like the Alphas or RX100/s Current HX60 menu not nice

  4. Other than not being able to do RAW, the biggest drawback of the HX60 is the sensor size. The successor should have a 1/1.7 rather than the 1/2.3.
The WX350 successor can keep the 1/2.3 sensor size, as the WX line is marketed as a lower-level to the HX.
