Korean reader Chiek shared his MOD sinar P2 project. Chiek writes on LL:
a7 series mountable Sinar camera. It can fit Canon EF lens mount (AF usable, especially a7R2 to Faster AF) and copal shutter mounts. using sinar standard, It has very precision and perfect technical cam. I’m now searching most valuable lens in All focal length.
That “Universal” mirrorless modular camera is just an idea for now. And probably will always remain an idea 🙂

What is the purpose for this project..???
E mount already is a universal mount accepting almost all lenses …with adapters…and the newer E mount cameras even allow pd autofocus with most dslr lenses.
It appears they are trying to achieve the Medium Format look with dslr sensors. Medium format being a bigger sensor / frame size, it appears they are trying to do what a Speedbooster does for small sensors by making a “focal reducer” for large sensors to simulate the Medium format look.
This could take a lot of work and IMO a focal reducer that’s not top quality is not worth using here. Even if he pulls it off it could be really expensive.
There are more experiments on the same path even not using an a7:
