Someone at DVXuser said there is a new Sony FS series in the hands of beta testers now. Its supposed to be called FS960. It will do 4K at 60p, Full HD at 120p continous, and 240fps without buffer. Price will be 12K$. UPDATE: I am not sure if this one is a rumor floating on the forum or just a joke. So take it easy 🙂

Why not fill gap between fs100 and fs700…
Yes it should be something between them . 1080p , nd filter , better codec etc….
Any way fs100 is still good camcorder , especially if you use right PP . The biggest pain in ass ,is that there is no one right PP for fs100 . Cinegamma could be solution and push more people to get fs100 instead canon c100 . I compared with my friend fs100 to c100 and they go head to head , but with fs100 jump from one PP to another , complicate everything , and I am sure for beginners it might be nightmare .

The shape of the camera in the picture match the rumour octagon shaped. But i hope it is not exactly the same one, it will not be so friendly for handheld use without rig, and it still missng the lcd. But maybe the prototype just show a part of it, really hope some one can confirm this rumour. Had been struggle long time to purchase fs700 or wait for next model that can do internal 10bit recording.
What happened to the DSLR shaped 4K camera?
Interesting question might also be the new naming system, since the NEX-FSx00 camera series has never been α and therefore might keep the NEX name, while a Symbol for E-Mount is still missing anyway…
Admin thx for this, but did you got any news that when it might be release? possible coming on 1st half year? or year end?
cause i’m planning getting fs700, but if this is real coming soon, i think i will wait for it!
one few more question, 4k internal? 10bit internal? thx!
Not in my budget 🙁
I guess they will use an APS-C sensor?
APSC is same as super 35mm film so yes
Super 35 and APSC is roughly the same size, but I believe their ratio is different. The FS960 will use a Super 35 size sensor same as the FS700 and FSsomething
Exciting!
Just ordered the FS700 today 🙂
Not feeling too bad about it as this would be over my budget anyway. It would have been worse if they released a replacement that was better in the same price point…
YAY!!I knew this was coming, exactly what I need.
Should do 10-bit internal, if not at least 50Mbps at 24p
Octagon shaped camera, isn’t it the prototype showed at NAB Show?

The octagonal and dslr shaped nab prototypes had FZ mounts not e mounts.
Where are the ALPHA RUMORS ??????
One would think that were an A-mount release actually imminent, the rumor mill would be cranked-up to the max.
Here comes hybrid junk, RIP A-mount.
SR3 suddenly become SR1! reason? just because some ppl say it not gonna happen? nowadays rumour come out is all like more to SR1.
