  1. This is the best review Kai has made to date!

Seriously this was awesome review – detailed, objective, full of info, presented lightly with some great image samples. Kai has stepped up big time.

    1. Very different from his recent content where they focused mainly on entertaining rather than an actual information

    2. I agree. Usually Sony reviews have poor and uninformative, like the RX1 review.

Well done this time Kai! You managed to be funny AND informative on the same time (testing AF tracking etc).

    3. I agree with the original poster…i just got to watch this, and Kai has the perfect balance
between being very knowledgable and very irreverent. Watch this!

  2. Worthless review, worthless reviewer! Nothing new, just repeating what everyone else has said about the cameras. Don’t waste your time with this. I regret loosing a part of my life to watching this.

    1. This review focused on the kit lens a lot, most coverage barely mention it. From the look of the photos the kit is not as bad as everyone saying but then again maybe their comparing it to the Lecia, L Glass, Zeiss, other super high end glass

      1. That kit lens has got to be one of the biggest 3.5 5.6 kit zooms ever made. So what’s the purpose of making small bodies when lenses come out looking like black beer cans?

          1. The 55 isn’t a big lens! Especially for a very high end optic with AF. It isn’t even 3 inches long! It’s 71mm/2.8″ 281g vs 505g for the Sigma 50mm. Vs 81mm /518g from the Zeiss 50 1.4

And let’s not forget – for those who call it “slow”
1/3 a stop is relatively small – actually, it’s got the same transmission as a 50mm f/1.4 on the Sony SLT cameras that rob at least 1/3 of the light from the image path.

          2. Dude, you need to look at the other lenses. One example isnt going to cut it. The new zeiss lenses, even the Samsyang lenses, seems like all new 35mm 1.4 lenses are as long as a plunger. Back in the 60’s even 35mm 1.4 slr lenses were small compared to the bricks they make for mirrorless cameras. You see those tout Ziess lenses or whatever they call it? Theyre as big as crock pots for craps sake. there is NO point in making small camera bodies with big ass lenses on them. They dont hold well or handle well, its a thing called “balance”. something these mirrorless companies have no clue in.

          3. Splendid Fargo! I guess we all should congratulate you for being a genius!

If you watch the video, you’ll see that the camera is appropriately sized. It could be bigger but it works.

And you obviously don’t know the difference between optics of the 60s vs modern day optics and the different design goals needed for today optics or past optics.

          4. ohhh…fargo…back in the 60s, all lenses were manual focus only. Add AF motor on it, wala! Bigger lens.

          5. Adma-rooru-gade whatever the hell you are. You obviously cannot use logic because shills dont believe in logic, do they?

          6. Pick a name and stick with it, nit wit, dont use mine or your 25 other fake names, dumbledee dum.

        1. The advantage is that you have the opportunity to stick a small lens on it, if you feel like it. Something that makes no sense on a EOS-1D f.e.

          1. Dude, dont be ignorant. The eos 1d is made that size for a reason. It’s for your hand to hold properly with larger lenses, especially telephotos. that’s why they have a secondary shutter and grip, you know, so pros can shoot vertical “comfortably” hen using larger lenses. Have you ever seen a pro use a 300mm 2.8 stuck to a ep3? And dont say yes cause we all that BS. The eos 1 has a proper grip, not some half assed half grip for some gnome hobbit. We know you love smaller cameras but try to be a little more objective, eh? And if you didnt know too, the mirrorbox is also there for a reason…to give you a proper OVF, not some tiny assed lcd they call a EVF. Try it sometime, it’s better than staring at a tiny lcd with dead pixels with refresh and lag problems while its draining the shite out of your batteries.

          2. Fargo, you’re the ignorant one, the manufacturers are not pushing these cameras as a wildlife or sports photography camera, it’s more purposed as a daily or specific usage (like landscape, architecture or street but not for sports or wildlife). Also just cause the manufacturer doesn’t say it, doesn’t mean that you can’t use it with super tele lenses if you feel like it. It might not give you the best comfort or be the best tool for the job, but it’s your decision and if it allows you to grab the shot, so be it.

          3. “adam” I guess I see nothing but mirrrorles cameras out there instead of entry or enthusiast dslr models in almost every ones hands. I guess they cant use dslrs to shoot the same things that are shot with mirrorless cameras. I guess there are things only mirrorless cameras can shoot, how ignorant of me, to believe that whatever you shoot with a mirrorles camera can already be done with shooting with a non mirrorless camera. I never knew mirrorless cameras have such magical properties.LOL

    2. Then you will like watching the “Camera store” on youtube. It features dull reviews on the specs of the camera, all the while being filmed in Alberta, population 3.

        1. Whats there to make fun of in the camera store? there’s the odd moose, the snow and the one person who’s probably a plant walking through the video. Plus it takes about 5 light years for a new video to surface on the camera store. It would be faster to wait in line at a Russian mall serving free borsch.

      1. WRONG! Calgary has 3 people – Alberta (the province that Calgary is in) has a total of 14. Get your Canadian facts straight!

        1. Not when I was there a few years go on a saturday night in down town calgary. You would think at 6pm sat night, the streets of downtown would have tonnes of ppl bustling about, ready to go out to have a good time…but no, I saw about 2 ppl walking around on the streets, total. I thought i was in the effing twilight zone or something. i seriously thought I was in a dali painting…worse, dali’s paintings were never as desolate and boonie-landish as Calgary was.

  3. FYI the Oz version of the A7r came with a dedicated charger, not just a USB power supply. Not sure about other parts of the world.

Oh and limited offer here in Oz was your choice of Metabones lens adapter via redemption. Thx Sony!
    j

    1. Hopefully they offer this for your Monarch cousins here in Canada. Would make up for the amount of tax we have to pay.

    1. Why would he? The A7/A7r are generally regarded as fairly good industrial design, whereas the A77 (which I own) and A99 and kind of goofy looking and ripe for some people to poke fun at.

    1. Why, because he didnt wet his pants over a camera that has an aps c sensor and a evf? Should he? We are in 2013, not 1950. The nex 7 would be a head turner 50 years ago, even 15, not today..,,try and be objective, man. It’s a camera, you push a button, it takes a digital file, nothing new there.

      1. Kai’s review of the NEX-7 was somehow a bit too negative because he didn’t like the EVF and all the review was more rubbish. DSLR still ruled the camera world and he preferred OVF. It seemed like he could not really imagine that this was the beginning of Sony’s revolution back then and he underestimated it a bit in his review (my feeling). NEX-7 today is still the best APS-C camera with a viewfinder, full manual control and the possibility to mount all existing lenses. Yes, it was new, nothing like it existed before and only since the A7 something better exists. People didn’t piss their pants but they definitely got exited.
Today Kai praises the “great EVF” on the A7 and back then he criticized the NEX-7 EVF, which however isn’t that much worse (I own both). Actually nothing better existed back then.

        1. Like I said, it’s a camera, you push the button, it takes a picture for you. It’s not something we havent seen before. His reviews are his opinion, but at least Kai is a little more objective than Steve – BS Leica my sponsor is better than everything reviews – Huff.
Back to the Sony, when it came out it was and IS too expensive for a camera that has no ovf, with an apsc sensor. For that price most ppl would rather carry a a brick at half the cost. Sony camera is not a huge player, and have no clout in the camera world among pros, semi pros or even enthusiasts. And yes, the noobs will always follow what everyone else is using. Sony thinks because it’s name is Sony that ppl who are in the know will simply go out and invest good money in a camera system because of the name? Sony was a nobody before they bought minoltas cam tech. And even after that, the “alpha” mount is a just an old maxxum mount. now, the fresh new babies may not know this but most ppl who know about cameras over a 20 yr period do. Sony has NO DIRECTION, and it would not surprise me if they canned the nex apsc line too. Mirrorless cameras…ha! They made those things in the 40’s. They had mirrorless digital cameras long before m43, it was called” point and shoot cameras”. Oh, wait, those cameras coulnt change lenses. Oooooo, I guess no one has yetinvented the interchangable lens mount yet too. If Sony thinks all this BS variations of the same thing, over a span of many years is going to get them new users, they must be high on some strong stuff. All this crap theyre doing, and the sad thing is…they could have saved so much time and money if they just did this nex FF SH&T at the start, not now after the suckers have bought sony dslrs, dsslt’s, nex, rx1, this lists goes on and on.

          1. Mate karm down, Sony burned you? Guessing an A Mount user. RX1/R users brought the camera because they liked it, it wasn’t cheap and its niche as. Sony wanted to have a point of separation between them and other DSLR manufactures, so they made SLT tech and EVFs.
It’s clear you dislike, probably hate, an EVF, I can’t use an OVF in a modem camera – bad eye sight and disconnect between what I see and the image taken. The limited time I spent with an A99 felt great, better than my Canon 5D2. The A99 still does things the 5D3 can’t, mainly in video. I only didn’t buy the A99 because I liked adapting lenses so much on my Nex 5N, hence why I purchased the A7. As for the hot shot, iso standard compliant. They dropped the NEX name, I think unwise but big deal doesn’t change the camera. The NEX 7 plays in the same market as the Fuji-X Pro line, high end GH/X and OMD, some people want a compact camera with great IQ, size dies matter. If you want a Mirror, OVF, bulky body then you have a lot of options, lots of options – Nikon Digital Fusion, Pentax K3, Canon t4i, Pentax ME1

          1. Its ok, we know that you’re the exceptional one. There’s still Canon and Nikon for you, or even Olympus or Fuji. Feel free to choose other brands to your liking, don’t have to hang around here like a disgruntled kid.

        2. PhinioxGlade, You’ve never used a proper OVF is you hate it. You are out voted by the sheer number of ppl who dont buy cameras with evfs but instead opt for the ovf cameras. Now please dont go writing back about how they are all wrong and you are right, and that it’s subjective. lol

          1. lol, the same goes to you. Probably Fargo never tried a good EVF before as well.

And before you flame me for never using a good OVF before, I’ve used the 5D Mark II, D3, D700 and D300s before.

        3. PhinioxGlade, get out while you can mate, before sony abandons the stuff you bought from them six months later. I have a hard time believing anyone would invest that much in a company that doesnt even have a pedigree in making fine cameras. walkmans, yes..cameras, hell no. And using the maxxum mount doesnt impress me either.

        4. Bob, er…right. I like to use AF cameras like the NEX 7 for manual focusing like you. Gee, why buy a manual focus camera for manual focusing when you can buy a AF one to do that? Do you also buy a car so you can manually push it around as well, bobby?

        5. Adam, the only good evf is one that doesnt have any dead pixels, noise, refresh problems, lag problems, and battery drain of any sort. find me one if you can. but you cant cause they dont exist. Yeah, you use to own the 5d mark3. And i used to own every leica lens and mirrorless systems out there. I believe what you said because and now you should believ what I said.

    2. Then Steve huffs site is the one for to to go to. He’s got a tonne of bs reviews where he doesnt even focus properly or even crops properly for fantastic biased reviews. And, to top it off, he puts his lecia camera next every other camera he “reviews” cause hes not some leica sponsored shill…oh no.

  4. I think Kai’s reviews are gorgeous! He is so nicely the opposite of a fanboy and still can like a camera. Btw I did not know the Hazzy model was already out – must be the one towards the end of the review.

  5. At least Kai was right about Sony dslrs being SH&T. No wonder sony keeps making variations of the same thing every six months.

    1. I think he’s refering to the trolls on the internet saying ” all their DSLR are shit”, just because they stepped into the market later by taking over minolta and not selling as much as Canikon.
In fact the A900 was a great DSLR (maybe one for purists, but the picture quality was there), the A99 is a great DSLT that can really do it all and the A-mount will continue being mirrorless one day. Who cares what kind of technolgy makes the camera autofocus as long as the picture quality and performance is there? As long as people can still use their existing lenses I don’t see any problem at all!

      1. Let’s be honest here, Sony doesn’t even make dslrs anymore. Gone. They make dslt’s…oops, probably gone too. the a99 came in around 3 grand, that was dumb and dumber. Do we see many a99 cameras out there on peoples hands in the real world? Nope. Now they have gotten rid of the nex name and everything is called Alpha. Now they have a new hotshoe which is still proprietary. Now they have a RX1, no, they also have a a7 camera with new FE lenses? I wonder what they will drop in the next 6 months. With all these changes, what consumer from the outside looking wouldn’t want to plunk down their hard earned dollar on a sony camera only to be left in the dust six months later. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to get burned in six months time! But I guess that’s the price we all have to pay for “new technology” ala- camera with no mirror and a small lcd they call an electronic viewfinder. Oh, if sony keeps making all these new technologies, pretty soon their cameras will run on a cassette film.

        1. That’s pretty much how all the rest of the technology works, now Sony brings it to camera land, what a shock that is to some. Look at mobile phones, laptops, TV’s etc. and basically the criticism is always the same, today you buy a mobile and 3 Months later they introduce a new and better model and certain people feel feel robbed “how dare they do this to me…”.
Personally I like Sony’s way of shaking up the market, because the technology keeps on evolving much faster. I do understand the thoughts when someone spends thousands of $ on a mark III, that he/she wants to have the best camera for at least 4 – 5 years (+/_ introduction period between mark II – III), but is it realistic, no not anymore. Of course it is crucial that Sony sticks to the e- and a-mount for years to come, as peoples investments should be in glass not bodies. The assumption that people are going to be burned in 6 Months time is unrealistic to say the very least.

          1. Yeah, but taking the mirrorbox out of a camera and making you pay for a tny lcd they call an evf is NOT new technology. that is where you are wrong.

          2. No, that brand new tech is called a evf, from a small lcd which is oddly WORSE than older tech called an ovf. How can older tech called an ovf be BETTER than a new lcd? You must love battery drain, dead pixels, lag, noisy assed evf’s. Wow such technology, hope we can all someday use a EVF for a car window instead of a piece of glass. You make perfect logical sense, and the world isnt round either but flat.

      1. yeah , variations of continuity. You can use the old eos stuff on the new. the lenses are made for All EOS CAMERAS. Canon did not make dslts, two types of hotshoes, and expensive mirrorless cameras that no self respecting pro would be caught dead with. It’s called, putting your customers investment first…not making gimmick after gimmick. Canon doesn;t pretend and lie to users and sell them down the river to believe that the magical mirrorless cameras can shoot pics a typical dslr can’t. Canon doesn;t BS it’s users into thinking that they should pay more for a non mirrored, non ovf camera than some mirrorless, ovfless camera. In the real world when you buy something with less features, you pay less, not the same or more. Figure that, logic huh? You ever heard of logic? No, cause logic does not apply to internet shills.

      1. Fritz probably prefers a reviewer to stand in front of the camera and recite all the specs of the camera like a long winded old lady to him for 15 minutes. What fritz doesn’t know is that they already have that kind of a show on the tube, it’s called “the camera store”.

        1. I like my camera reviews to have less snark and more image samples, strangely they included them this time.
DigitalRev’s style is more entertainment and less useful for potential owners. I find the reviews by Blunty3000 and thecamerastore to be much better, pretty much everything reviewed I want to own and I can’t say that for DigitalRev even though its the same products.

          1. Then make your own review with you in it as the reviewer and post it up and let us all decide how good you are. Beggars cannot be choosers.

      2. Exactly, Kai is a very sarcastic person and he appeals to those that like that style of humor. He never gushes about any product. People shouldn’t take some negative comments or those that are just pure sarcasm as a personal affront! Personally I find his “reviews” entertaining. I don’t watch them to learn about the cameras. By the time his video reviews come out, you can easily know way more about a product by just reading a few articles online. It’s more about “what will he say/do next”

  6. In Thailand you’ll get only USB charger. Only those who pre-ordered, got one extra battery and separate charger(for both a7,a7r)

  7. When “Leica Boss” captions, “Is Sony the new Leica”, the in your face statement registers on most.

When Kai shows a pimped up A7R and a Noct Asph and says casually, let us put this one of a kind creation on a special auction, that is completely lost on a lot.

    Geez!

    1. Exactly, saf !

While reviewing a camera, Kaï is allways making fun of fanboys and bashers, while alternatively playing each role. I like his reviews, even if they shall be taken with a huge grain of salt.

I espacially enjoyed the “wi-fi and coffee”, on this one ! I have allways been thinking of an espresso when I see the NFC logo 😉

Personnaly, I hate those videos with guys in front of the camera with a monocord voice, talking fast and describing the technical specifications of a gear. They talk fast, it’s extremly boring, they allways have focus issues while moving the gear on all angles in front of the video… Only fanboys want to watch this.

Kaï knows how to mix fun and intersting info. Of course, many people here already knew everything he said, about the focus, etc… Me as well. But Kaïs videos reach a far bigger panel of people, not only fanboys like us.

Good job Kaï ! You bloody Sony hater ! ;o)

  8. Just surprised again and again …..
….. how all the CanNikon fanboys keep on bashing Sony on all sites.

Sony may not be perfect, but are C&N ?? …. or others?

They Supported the Alpha Mount now since quite some years, though it was pronounced dead, repeatedly. The came out with some pretty good lenses for this ailing System, no matter some People liked it or not. Well, then the Zeiss glass was too heavy, too expensive, too ….. whatever.

The E Mount was introduced quite successfully, but the bashing continued, though it sold quite successfully – especially to new and young users. And the ability to adapt to other lenses of diverse make is exceptional.

Now the FE is crap, because it cannot accept E lenses and make normal pixe. Did you ever try to use CanNikon APS-C lenses on FF?? Oh, so bad companies – why is there vignetting??

As Long there is something to be found with Sony cams which could be interpreted in a negative way, some people are going havoc over here.

Somehow ssome “Other-Brand-Afficionados” suffer a severe inferiority complex to react like kids at the peak of their puberty!

I think Sony made some great equipment and still does! Full stop!

    1. You should sink your money in sony then and see how far it gets you. Sony is not a camera company with a history of fine camera making. The maxxum mount is dead, sony had no choice as rehashing the maxxum mount is cheaper than a new one with no users. Sony is at fault with they way they handle their cameras, making this after that. No one is buying into a company that cant even decide what to make and keep. If you use sony dlsrs, would you be happy if you knew sony wasn going to abandon that? the same with dslt, it will be gone too. Even the name NEX is gone. Face it man, Sony is doing this to itself. It cant make dslrs to compete with C and N because who needs a third dslr brand when canikon makes them plenty good? You see what position pentax is in now? It’s about security. If youre going to buy car from brand A, you better be sure that brand A is still making cars a year later so you not only can have something to upgrade to, but that also your investment isnt a one time waste.

All these sony bone heads keep on with the same old day dream, and then turn around and wonder why so many ppl are still using canikon dslrs. Its not canikons fault, its not the peoples fault, its sony for constantly trying to fix things that arent broken. From dslr to slt, fro a decent looking camera back to an ugly one. they are a joke in the camera industry. No pros will tocuh sony unless theyre shills, and no enthusiast will touch a brand that doesnt even give a crap about what their users bought. Here a prediction, if the a7 doesnt work out, in 1 or 2 years tiem, voila, another sony camera with another name. Sony obsoletes their own crap, no one buys, and then abandons the crap they made and make another fake new thing, repeat forever.

      1. fargo – so you are the new fanta (sy).

As Annette Benning said in Bugsy: “why don’t you go outside and jerk yourself a soda?”

      2. Sorry Fargo, but i must call out your ignorance. i’ve been following this thread for a while and read all of your post and i must correct the Garbage you’ve been spewing.

        1) A-mount is not dead. In fact Zeiss just released a new 55mm 1.8 lens leaving a wide open gap in the large sensor A-mount camera line up. A lens made for the d800 sized sensor with no sony equivalent? something is in the works. In addition to Sigma still supporting A-mount buyers and not E-mount. A-mount has a long life to live.

        2) EVF tech is the Future. As a professional for the last 5 years (only 23 y/o btw) and using the Nikon D300,D300s,D600, and D800’s exclusively, I can safely tell you that I will NEVER, Repeat NEVER, buy a camera with an OVF. Having my A77 in hand for the last few years, it far exceeds any of nikons offerings the APS-C market and continues to dominate cameras just released onto the market; all while I’m able to see EXACTLY what my sensor sees. also I never have to review my images, I know what they looked like BEFORE I took them. I’ve noticed that when using the SAME exact setups save the a77 or d300, I take twice as many printable images with my sony due to the fact that I take fewer missed exposures.

        3) Sony Does Care About Me, I don’t know what made you think that. Just because their market/product strategy isn’t transparent to someone on your level doesn’t mean that don’t support people who rely on their products. Yes I got screwed when they changed from the old minolta hotshoe to the ISO Standard… but hey, it made Equipment for the old minotla mount cheaper, and now I can use Pocket Wizards when I buy a full frame a-mount camera next Christmas.

        4) No matter how big or small the camera body, an optically acceptable lens will ALWAYS be bigger than a lens designed with its weight and size as it’s main parameters. The fact that these lenses can resolve a 24,300,000 and 36,300,000 pixel array with no vignette, sharp frames, and with Optical Image Stabilization and Autofcous should be enough to overshadow any weight and size concerns.

        5) Sony is an electronics company, Don’t expect them be as dedicated to cameras as a camera manufacturer. but as with all company in general, they want to make money, nikon, canon, fuji, lecia, are all trying to do the same exact thing. So don’t think for a second that just because you give them money, that they care about you at all. you’re money is taken with everyone else’s money, put into a pool and used for next years marketing and development. the rx1 was just a stepping stone to gain momentum for these a7/a7r products. obvisually they gambled well considering both product series sold extremely well.

        1. 3-” sony does care about me ” Man, that just says it all about you. That’s where you exposed yourself as a Sony shill.

Keep shilling man, and keep telling yourself all the cameras you see people buy out there in the real world are Sonys and not the top two. The sky is also not above you and birds don’t poop too.

        1. Our accusatory fanboy vlad is back from Steve Huffs website. He’s here to patrol the site like a self appointed policeman and make sure this site becomes the ass kissing kingdom that huff’s site has become.

      3. I admit sony does do things that piss me off like the stupid flash overheating problem but they make awesome cameras and they take risk that C & N don’t. I like sony cameras much better. It only makes sense a digital camera becomes all digital and I love the EVF most of the time. I don’t think they are going anywhere anytime soon and any company can go out of business so you can basically sink your money into anything these days.

        1. If you klove Sony cams then go out and buy some more sony dslrs…wait…you can;t, they discontinued making dlsrs. Oh well, there are always the dslt’s. No wait, they look like wont make those either. At least you can use your sony minolta flashes with the minolta hotshoe. Oh shoot, spoke too soon, they made a new hotshoe.

      4. What’s the name of the psychosis where you invest a lot of your time arguing with people you don’t even want to associate with? Kinda a co-dependent narcissism?

I’m didn’t get an RX1, not getting an A7, but I LOVE what Sony has done to the industry with each of them – more to come, for sure.

        – Bert (my real name)

        1. It’s just the truth. If you cant handle it, then keep buying sony and enjoy it, cause you will have something obsolete in six months to a year. LOL

  9. I got a scratch on the bottom of my A900 this weekend. Before that it was perfect. This has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. It’s a sad day…even worse than hearing Brian from family guy was killed off. Perfect camera- RIP.

  10. well, do not mistake the rabid troll chargin against sony ( in this blog) with someone just working for another brand trying to pee over the competition, i use different brands, and can afford them, no hate here, i laugh at you sad troll, stop hating cameras.

  11. Lol Fargo keep it up son, entertaining posts unlike the droll chat on here usually.

Give me your opinion on the Fuji too

  12. Wonderful, I specially like the absurd end of the video. Noone but Kai has the courage to do this. He knows – and everybody knows – that there are already dozens of (boring) serious reviews around.

There just NEEDS to be a guy like Kai to change the otherwise quite boring review landscape.
Irony and self- irony are what Kai delivers and he really succeeds in making me laugh. At the same time he rarely fails to also always give some thoughtful opinions and verdicts which are rarely – if ever – off the mark. Also rarely as “business friendly” as dpreviews and others.

  13. Sony, can we get a A7R with a black&white sensor only?

And for those, who want to teach me, that RAW can be converted to b&w in PP: I know, but b&w only is another approach, and would sell very well.

  14. Kai is definitely a Canon fanboy, but he does make a good point about Sony. They’re products never seem to have any sort of continuity.

But! The a7’s are AWESOME. My buddy has a mark II and he’s willing to go Sony.

  15. Wow! So much heat on this thread. I wonder how much fargo’s getting paid and by which company, to troll like that?

    1. I dont get paid for my opinion because if you had a little unbiased bone in your body, you’d know what I said is true. I say sony doesn’t sell well, they say it does, Who do you think is right? Go outside and look at what most ppl are using, not what you HOPE or DREAM that they’re using. those are facts, not some BS mirrorless outselling dslr propaganda. and yes, I’ve used the a7, the shutter lag is as slow as a dead horse. Ka–achunk! Sony will NEVER overtake the big two if all it does is keep making expensive gimmicks that they change every six months. You dont give ppl less and charge them more and expect sales. Sony is good at throwing things out there to see if it sticks. That’s not a strategy, that is their PROBLEM.

      1. I didn’t know that overtaking a particular market segment was a requirement for success. By your logic then all manufacturers who aren’t the biggest and dominant in their segment should pack up and leave. Clearly something else must be going on because last I checked those manufacturers are still around.

Furthermore I don’t need to look outside and see what the majority are doing because I don’t care. I follow what I’m doing and my own needs. For me that is Sony NEX which for the past two years has traveled with me wherever I go. I for one like what Sony is doing, their innovations and break from the conventional. Would i recommend their products to others? Yes. Would I go on a crusade and try to persuade users of other brands to convert and bash them for refusing? Not a chance. That is the behavior of a bigot.

If their products don’t suit your needs the answer is simple go elsewhere.

  16. Really like kai’s reviews ;)…. A review doesn’t have to be serious like a medical or litterature conference ;)… It has to be fun and Kai is very good at it.

    Kai’s shows must go on!!!!
