I got many rumors the last 48 hours and here is a short roundup of non A or E-mount camera rumors. Thanks to all sources for sharing the info!
1) On top you see the Honami Z1 smartphone with Sony G lens.
2) The new Action camera name is AS30 and has NFC and GPS
3) There will be a PXW-Z100 4k xavc xdcam for 6500€ Excl taxes for europe
The QX lens cameras will be announce tomorrow (Sept 4) at 4pm London time! Be sure to be online by that hour on SAR!

When is the 70-200G2 announcement? Beginning or End of September ?
I am working on that too! There will be an announcement after mid September. What I don’t knwo is if the 70-200mmG2 lens will eb alreayd announced tomorrow.
I would say no. Pictures would have leaked by now.

One thing I didn’t catch: I know the image of the 85mm f/1.8 Zeiss lens was fake, but was the rumor fake too? In other words: Is a 85mm f/1.8 lens coming, and if so, is it a Zeiss?

@Andrea, will the action cam be able to capture more than 60fps in a usable resolution?
By the looks of Sony products in video recently, you are likely to get 60p in avchd codec. I would say 90percent likely.

I love to play with slow motion in my projects, and sometimes 60fps is a bit too few. 120 would be desirable, 240 would make me pay what they want. 🙂
Looks almost identical to my Xperia SP, which I just got a few weeks ago and have zero intention of upgrading, because it’s such a great phone already ! As far as I’m concerned they could even stick a Leica lens in it, I still wouldn’t be bothered with one. It’s not about the optics it’s about the shitty tiny sensor that gives me ZERO control over DOF, and that’s why I buy serious gear for. Now put an APS-C, or even m4/3 sensor, in a phone, and it might change my opinion about them 😉
Would be cool to see a 3d action camera from Sony bundled with their new HMZ headset! At 720p this should not be very difficult.

The point with ‘G’ is that it’s a sweet sensor and lense that make you happy 🙂

I just read the news. Microsoft is buying Nokia.
I’m gonna say it and I am sure i’ll get flamed for it…Sony should use the windows phone platform in the future. Android has way too much rubbish on Google play (them app numbers are rubbish because only a percentage of that number are actually useful applications – same goes for apple’s appstore)
Windows phone has a cleaner interface and, as a phone, is far more eloquent than ios or android. Android is starting to look too cluttered and too messy for any screen of any size to look good with it.
Just a thought.
PS: I own a blackberry because it’s the only platform which is phone 1st and everything else after. You also can’t replace that amazing keyboard with anything so I can write long comments like this in less than a min.
Then I will get flamed too since I agree with you 100%. WP is a system to be taken seriously today. Global sales is 1/3 of that of iPhones, and steadily increasing. Too bad the guys at Sony haven’t realized that yet. They don’t even have a PlayMemories app, and I have been told they don’t even work on it. Contacted them when I bought my HDR AS-15. In hindsight I realize I should have gone for a GoPro instead (yes GoPro has a remote app for WP).
I agree too. Windows 8 has a lot of shortcomings imho, but way more potential than Android.

I’m another one that can’t live without a keyboard. Hopefully manufacturers realize there are many of us and stop flooding the market with monitors that have phone capabilities.

What’s the point of the Honami hype? G on the back cover? There are phones with better cameras already in shops ( Nokia Pureview series for example ).
