The last four weeks have been very busy for me. First I had a vacation that I mostly spent on rumor work and now one week of busy time for the company I work for. I am writing this because you have to know that this is a website driven by one man only (me) who writes in a terrible english (my native language are German and Italian) and by using my limited free time. So if the articles were worse than usual know that I was terribly busy the last month.
The good news for you is that I “was” busy. Starting from tomorrow I will have more time to work on rumors and on more decently written articles 🙂
Today I will contact all my trusted sources to get some details on the NEX-FF, RX and A-mount rumor front. All I can tell you for now is that Sony is spending more effort than usual to keep the secret around the new NEX-FF and A-mount products. And this is a good sign, it means something very important is going to happen soon.
So stay tuned on SAR and remember, QX lenscameras are coming next week (Sept. 4). And major pro camera and lens release is expected in late September. Be ready for an exciting time on SAR

– I do agree with you. The A99, NEX-7 firmware update is disappointing
– A trusted sources that shared the wrong A3000 in body IS info sent me the “official” excuses because of the mistake (he read the wrong data on the menu-manual). Apologies accepted 😉
– Thank to all people who donated the money necessary to cover the server upgrade (and extra bandwidth costs). Future donations are no more needed to cover these costs. But if you want you can donate for the next SonyAlphaRumors redesign that I plan to do in late 2013. In very short what I will do is to improve the comment system, article readability and include more visibility for readers articles.

A major pro camera and lens release?
Sony needs this desperately for trickle down marketing success. Make the pros happy and watch the amateurs come running in droves. Make the amateurs happy and watch the enthusiasts come running. Make the enthusiasts happy and watch the newbies come running. A pretty simple top down marketing model. Sony feels more comfortable with bottom up marketing. Good for joysticks and game consoles, but not good for photo industry.
Sony needs this validation more than anything. Almost as much as they need to fix the flash system. Seriously… If the pros talk bad about the kit, then the trickle down marketing will be devastating.
Remember the old rumor about a high MP stills centric camera? Hope they fulfill that vision. Get the togs enthused please. Everything else will take care of itself naturally from there.
Love the A99 but they really need to kick arse with the new pro camera…Be bold Sony Be bold!!!

Just know that while we may grumble from time to time, I think we all realize we wouldn’t have a clue what’s coming next in the Sony world if it wasn’t for you. To reduce your work load, you could maybe reduce the number of postings and concentrate on Alpha rumors and only those really substantial and solid ones. And yes, the recent NEX-7 FW update was a real anticlimax. It did nothing to my cam I can notice. No Honami, no UI speedup, no auto ISO in M mode…

Regarding language – I am working in a German affiliate of a Japanese company, and I have to deal with people from Japan, UK, America, Netherlands, Hungary, Czech, Spain, Norway and other countries every day. And you can’t imagine of what “grammatical-accidents” you hear and read per day in such an environment…
My experience is that people from UK and America are very tolerant to our little grammatical errors. The only complainers are here in our affiliate – Germans who think they have better language skills… 🙂

Just hope Sony doesn’t do too many things with all these (NEX APS-C, NEX FF, A-Mount, RX, QX, Compacts, …).

As a Pentax and Sony system camera guy, I tend to be at both ends of the tech scope, with Pentax sleeping in one corner and Sony barging ahead with new tech nobody ever knew they needed. Your blog/pages not only provide the latest rumours and news, they also do one more important thing for all your readers. This site (and your others) help the average photographer stay sharp when buying into an ecosystem of expensive equipment. Without knowing the possible future direction of a company, we can be buying into a system that could be dead in the future 2 months. Sony unlike Pentax, has been particularly horrible at keeping their customers happy and seem to dump models within a blink the moment they sit on a store shelf for over 2 weeks. I bought into the SLT line 3 years ago happily hoping for a fast AF and speedy frame rate only to find that all my bodies and equipment were discontinued within a very short 6 months after the launch. Canon/ Nikon and Pentax seem to have longevity attached to them and had I discovered your wonderful site earlier, I would have steered into a NEX system instead of SLT. I am happy with my current equipment, but future proofing is needed in today’s expensive equipment market.
Thank you again for all your hard work and sorry to hear you reached the point of exhaustion in doing so. If you need to take a break from providing this generous service, just do it and post a message that a vacation is required. We will return…

No, I am from South Tyrol. I speak natively German here.
I see. Have you ever noticed usability “glitches” with Sony cameras? I mean huge mistakes for those of us who just want to shoot, without a device standing in the way. For example, you pay 750 EUR for a compact camera and it doesn’t even have two separate dials for aperture and exposure? Have you ever regretted that?
You have done an excellent job. Even the new E-mount products are kind of disappointing to me, all your previous posts did give me some hints as I was planning to upgrade my 5N to something better. However, maybe I was missing something in the middle, how come we no longer hear about the Hybrid A-E mount camera? Did Sony give up the idea? I have a few good A-mount lens (including the 135/f1.8z) and I don’t like the idea of using the LA2 adapter. The A-E mount is the one I have been waiting in the past whole year. Any update about that?

as a recent NEX user I regularly visit your site and not only has it been most helpful, it kept me in suspense regarding the new f/4.0 Zoom Lenses. Thanks so much for your work and frequent updates! But please – don’t overdo it; indications of burn-out are not to be taken lightly, so: Take. Time. Off.
PS.: An English teacher from Canada once told me that non-native speakers usually apply better grammar and orthography than native speakers do.

Please know that my last paragraph was meant sarcastically. While I love your site, and check in nearly every day, if you take a week or two off, even if it is at a point where you are getting a large number of exciting updates, we can wait. Especially as yours is the only site that I know that is posting these rumors.
As for your English, as many others have said, your English is fine. I see occasional misspellings, and occasional wrong words used, but as a whole, your English is great. It is better than the English of most of my fellow Americans in fact.
So thank you for all of the work you have done so far with this site, and for all of the work that you are still to do. It is very much appreciated.
