I agree about the unnecessary whining, but also point out that the items are not “free.” They are built into the pricing of the product – they may seem “free” when compared to other retailers charging the same for the camera without the items. It’s a common marketing ploy used by sellers when they have an overstock of some slow-selling accessory that can be better utilized in a promotion.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that and those particular items would be useful for some.
Exactly. Most of the bundled items a photographer would already have, or they are lower quality like the filters etc. Spare battery is always nice. But I’d much rather just buy the camera a la carte for cheaper if I could.
Now if only the freaking GX7 body-only would ship out in the US. What is going on?
Most of the stuff is flotsam, but a spare OEM battery, a top quality bag (Case Logic) and a large, fast SD card? This beasts Amazon and the other shops. It appears trolls can’t read.
Why do you post these trash deals? U get a bunch of crappy garbage which normally costs less then an OEM spare battery. Besides the slow sd card everything else is useless.
The point is about their asking price.
It is asking for no more than any other lowest price.
Sure, you don’t have to get most of these extra junks, but your alternative is to get just the GF6 kit for the same exact price, so if you find even just one item useful, it is automatically a best deal.
What I can not understand is people who complains about it just because they themselves don’t need it, but deals like these applies to all of us, and some will find this info quite useful.
Possibly more interesting: Cameta still has the E-PM1 for only $120 (body only).
I don’t trust the tripod, filters and converters but the rest seems usefull enough to consider them an extra rebate of something like $40 .
