        1. He seems to be quite good with a camera, shouldn’t that be enough?

If Ansel Adams had been in such a situation, I’m betting that someone would say that he didn’t have any credibility, either.

          1. They’re just mad because Gulio used to work for Olympus and use Olympus only cameras, then jumped ship to Panasonic because the Panasonic cameras were better to use for his hybrid photography.

If he was still under Olympus’s wing, they would be praising him right now.

But he’s not, so they’re upset of course….

          2. I wish he’d be around when Panasonic and Olympus introduced Live View with the DMC-L1 and E-330. We could have used real photographers showing what the system could do.

He and Robin Wong have done more to show the viability of micro Four-Thirds than the companies themselves have shown.

          3. Robin Wong is the company, sad days when paid employees are considered reliable honest sources

    1. Of course, you’d be down on your knees in front of Oly fanboi shills Ming Thein and Robin what’s-his-name…. borrowing your parlance.

Honestly, give the fanboi BS a rest!
In case you failed to notice… It’s a SYSTEM!
Two Camera manufacturers, with slightly different philosophies, along with a bunch of third-party lens makers.

We M4/3 users are damn LUCKY to have the array of choices we have!

      1. My issue with GS is that he is just a self-appointed expert (I don’t care about his bias)…He makes incorrect statements and I do not think his photography is anything special. He should just be another person here on the blog….not a serious source of info. I can’t take him seriously.

        1. Isn’t any blogger a ‘self appointed expert’? The answer is simple – read multiple blogs and get an overview, decide which functions are most important to you and get the camera most appropriate to your photography and budget.

It sounds to me as if you are unable to make your own decisions and you want someone to tell you what to believe. Either that or you don’t actually want a review at all – what you really want is someone to write an article that confirms your buying decision and makes you all warm and cuddly knowing you you didn’t waste several hundred dollars.

          1. Your description may describe yourself…but it certainly does not describe me. It’s laughable.
Are you a fiction writer who does no research on their subject matter, and just manufacture your statements out of thin air?? LOL!
Perhaps you and GS can collaborate on his next blog entry?

          2. My point was that he is someone who puts his comments on a blog and I am not aware that he looks on himself as a ‘self-styled expert’ as you suggest. He comments on cameras as he sees it and leaves us to see if our priorities are the same as his – if not, choose another camera instead of denigrating him. By all means argue on points of fact, don’t bitch about whether his preferences match yours.

Who knows why certain bloggers develop a following but if you don’t agree with him don’t read it.

          3. Thanks for making up stories about me and telling me how I must behave!?
I can tell you one thing about how I will behave in the future…if I come across the words “ever hopeful”…I will stop reading right there.
            How about that?!

      2. Well said Jeff, the Olympus faithful swallow every word that comes from paid employees {Wong} meanwhile every single positive post made about Panasonic gets attacked and dissected. Its a pity that Olympus make some sweet gear love my 75mm as I would hate to be associated with some of these Olympus religion followers.

        1. lol you are silly. In a recent GM1 thread I ANSWERED a question from someone regarding flashes, and inmediately got blasted by a horde of Panasonic fanboys for daring to mention the word hotdhoe (while explicitly, repeatedly and very profoundly pointing out that no, I fid not think the GM1 needed one). The moronic responses quite demonstrated them to be much worse then all the claims about ‘Olympus fanboys’ and also demonstrated thry are totally incapable of reading (evident from angry responses that merely make arguments that were made in the post gthey replied to)

People like you who suffer from this stupid Panasonic persecution syndrone should go look for some help, as not only do you have a psychological issue, you are also destroying any useful conversation and give m4/3 a bad name

          1. There is nothing worse than Olympus fanboys they are a plague upon humanity 🙂 well that’s a bit of an exaggeration but they are a royal PITA in forums.

You are right that there are fanboys from other makers though the Olympus mob have taken the art of fanboyism to glorious new levels or should that be sewer like lows 🙂

Olympus fanboys are the laughing stock of the forum communities.Their problem lies in the delusion that their gear is better than everyone else and they cannot understand why Olympus has always been a bit player.Just look at all the BS claims from some posters here when the fact of the matter is that with mFT Olympus actually has a lower percentage of the interchangeable camera market than they did at the peak of their DSLR sales.

83% of current sales are DSLR 17% mirrorless, mFT has at the very best estimate approximately 45% of the mirrorless market which works out at 7.65% of the interchangeable lens camera market. This is shared between Olympus and Panasonic lets give Olympus the largest share and say the have 5% of the world interchangeable camera market they had 9% of the DSLR market.

So they actually have an even smaller share of the user base than they had before mFt has obviously been a huge success for them 🙂

  1. I had the opportunity today, at our local photo expo here in Copenhagen to try all the new stuff: The GM1, GX7, Sony A7 and Olympus E-M1 – and boy did I get a serious case of GAS!

In regards to the GM1. It feels real exclusive, even compared to the more expensive GX7.

The new kit zoom is really nice too, but a bit hard to operate because the camera is so small, and I think the GM1 will handle best with a small prime like the 14mm.

  2. It is ok that he or anyone is associated with Panasonic of any company. The problem is that he lied, e.g. he said EVF of GX7 was the biggest in size in m43.

It is ok to be a fanboy but making false statements is definitely not acceptable.

        1. Yes please no more Panasonic stuff we want Olympus ,Olympus and wait for it more Olympus. We don’t care if it is infomercials from Wong or BS from Terada explaining why its somehow because Women are poor that Pen sales are diving.Just give us Olympus, pretty please!!!!

          1. If you hate Panasonic so much, why don’t you write a simple userscript for your browser to remove such posts? 🙂
… or BETTER, ask admin to create categories Olympus and Panasonic, so that fanboys can choose their own territory and stop flamming here 🙂

          2. No not good enough only Olympus must be allowed we cannot contaminate the glorious name of Olympus with other lesser makes 🙂

  3. “Giulio Sciorio show’s new lenses for lumix cameras included a leica for the gm1”
I can’t seem to find where it shows the new lenses? How far into the video do they talk about it?

    1. Found it at 50 minutes into:

      https://plus.google.com/+PanasonicUSA/posts/bRXjhEacT1J

Mentions and shows off the GM1 + 12-35 (kit lens).
Then he shows off the new, unreleased (all prototypes) 42.5mm + 15mm + compact 35-100 lenses.

Actually quite impressive. The GM1 is more than a camera. It looks like Panasonic is building a new (sub)system of lenses around it as well — by which I mean even the new 35-100mm is very compact. Well done, Panasonic.

  4. Why is the orange leather version only slated for Asia / EU markets, do you think it would not do well in the US?
