  1. That is a good price on the E-M5 Mark II …but I think that you may get slammed with import duties to the US. I do not have that happen when I buy from Asian countries..(unfortunately their prices are not this low). I bought one item a while back from Canada and it was sent UPS…and a couple of weeks later UPS mailed me an import bill!!!!! No mention of it up front or in the delivery info. Not a nice surprise!!! LOL!
I decided to buy a used E-M5 Mark II (unusual for me…but I think it is a great camera, but overpriced right now). I got a SWEET deal on the camera, HLD-6 (with battery holder), spare OEM battery. I was lucky to find one with less than 1000 shutter actuations.

    1. I was wondering about the customs situation too. I got dinged a few years ago when a made a custom photobook with “Photobook America” which is actually in Canada. In order to get my book I ended up having to pay something like $30 in customs duties. I was furious and let the company know it.

    2. There is no customs tax on new cameras and lenses purchased for personal use, and I’ve never had to pay anything on many purchases over the years shipped in various ways, including UPS and other big ones. Just Google it to find the relevant regulations. Some on DPreview – the tax topic comes up often – have said that some shippers have tried to bill them for some tax, such as the post above. I think that they had to contact a supervisor or whoever to get it straightened out. But, no tax is due.

  2. I would have to imagine that you get no warranty on the E-M5 II, since it does not appear to be an official Olympus vendor. In terms of shipments from Canada, I’ve heard that UPS has a number of issues, and that most people in the know use the US/Canada mail for cross borders sales.

    1. Given that a6000 is $450 from Amazon itself, E-M5 II should be $500 or so (smaller, low-res sensor and no OSPDAF, but IBIS and weather-sealing practically negate each other).
