Tyson: “I’ve been putting this together for a while now and got the first part of it done. It is a gear post about losing weight through the mirrorless systems (m4/3 primarily) when preparing for a backpacking trip. In the next part I’m going to focus on capturing techniques and then the final will be processing panos and hdr landscape shots using the micro 4/3 cams and lenses. http://tysonrobichaudphotography.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/the-mirrorless-diet-how-to-lose-weight-instantly-part-1/”
Julien: “Hey there! We always love to create short stories for the art and having recently returned on vacation and writing a lot, we wanted to share the freedom one enjoys while writing. Hope you like!

Matt: “We’re based in Victoria, BC, Canada . Everything on our site is shot with the Olympus OM-D and E-5 http://www.evenstarphotography.ca/cara-andy-wedding/”
Jurek: “Wanted to share with you a five minute spoof video shot with a GH2 and the SLR Magic 25mm Hyperprime CINE, hand-held. The project came about quite spontaneously, hence the on-camera sound. But it’s audible. Personally, I’m extremely happy with what the lens puts out, and notice especially how well the red shirt is taken, red being a real issue for digital cameras. http://vimeo.com/72155683”
Graham: “I use m4/3 for my underwater photography, and recently had my photos published in the Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2391373/Incredible-moment-shark-whisperer-hypnotises-deadly-shark-15-minutes-gentle-nose-rub.html. These were taken with my Olympus E-PL1 and housing setup! I thought it might be interesting news for you to share. Cheers!”
Bernard: “I made a small comparison between lens : 4/3 : zoom 12-60 f/2.8-3.5 (HG lens, not SHG) micro-4/3 : 17mm, 45mm. Plus, pictures from the 50-200 Zoom + EC-20 : gives a 400mm (800 mm equiv 24×36). http://mailhol.com/photo/compar-43“

Great pictures Graham.. Congratz!
sig 60mm f2.8 is pretty cheap here in sydney $170 it think,i was thinking of buying this instead of 45mm f1.8 which cost around $400 dollars twice the price of sigma 60mm
Goes to show making quality lenses doesn’t cost much after all. Lens prices are set too high. Sigma is showing them up.

Worst review ever. So the E-P5 has GPS and a noisy autofocus motor..? *lol*
OK..the Russian review of the Sigma 60mm f/2.8….can’t read a word of it…but the photography and the styling are magnificent !!
@Phred
Are you referring to the Russian Models? Yes they are! BTW, Graham underwater pics of the sharks are awesome too. It show that camera sensors ain’t as important as the photographer.
..and there have been special sales of the underwater housing for the EPL1 @ as low as 199 $ around the web.. A wonderful deal if you’re not into latest and greatest gear..
Well..yes the model is beautiful (stunning actually)…but it is more than that. The styling of the model and the lighting are top notch…framing, DOF …its all good. From Russia with love. LOL. We need more of this…who cares if you can read the article. The photography in this article blows away 80% of all imaging in lens reviews. Period.
I am also amazed at how inexpensive, sharp and small this lens is (missed my radar as soon as I saw that it was made for an aps sensor)…considering that this lens was not made for the MFT format it is small enough for “Micro”FT and we get the benefit of the sweet spot of the image area which probably adds to the across-the-field sharpness, even wide open! I am impressed. This lens also fills a nice hole in the primes I have. Oly 45mm f/1.8 then Oly 75mm f/1.8. hmmmmmmm……… LOL!
“In the hell for perfectionists, there is no sulfur smoke and no fire. There stand only cauldrons, slightly asymmetrically and dented.”
The SIGGRAPH seams to be revolutionary tool!!!
But probably not planed for m4/3 Users. Advantage APS-C. Up to now.
SIGGRAPH is just the name of a very famous conference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIGGRAPH
i do not understand why SIGGRAPH ,will revolution
it’s computer graphic company if comp/art and comp/graph has meaning same to imaging
maybe computer graphic tech companies will entry to imaging and photograph ?
3D graphics was already stepping on photography’s toes for many years. 3D graphics has huge overlap with photography anyway: presenting 3D scene on 2D surface.
IIRC first practical (and cheap) 3D scanning using a conventional photocamera was presented there. (Many 3D objects in modern games are based on scanned models. Ditto humanoids and faces. Cue in the 3D printing.)
Basically, for SIGGRAPH, anything dealing with 3D imaging is a go. And the video shows how one can tweak a normal camera to do 3D things, and not only. Now imagine instead of the camera sensor human eye(s), and GPU+display instead of the sophisticated optical design. That kind of ideas SIGGRAPH is after.
Oh thanks, but i think imaging and photograph use only 2D processing ,
3D for engineer,3D game ,design art
and Motion Picture is 2D render not 3D,sorry my knowledge from computer tech student.
The 12-60 seems to kick the living daylight out of the oly primes!
um….look again. The contrast and the sharpness is better with the primes.
So is the bokeh.
This is a really cool comparison of BMCC VS Blackmagic Pocket Camera (done by Captain Hook), both mounted together and using the same lens while shooting together:

Very nice.
