    1. Yes, they are all broken. It’s more important to the admin that he collects our data than that the links actually work.

  1. That video doesn’t show much to me. Most of these situations should have been handled by the camera quite decently w/o VLog. To make a comparision, it would be useful to shoot standard & VLog mode side by side, and then compare those.

    1. Doesn’t impress me either. I can get better results without any grading in the camera. Even if I would need to use Olympus camera instead Panasonic.

And that saying is just the truth.

  2. Rainbows, rainbows everywhere…
Shian Storm (from personal-view) was right. Either you know your lighting and grading from heart or v-log is useless.

  3. Apparently from what I’ve read, it’s much easier to color grade if you first over expose by 2 stops, that’s why the original footage is too bright.
    Not fair comparison.

    1. If you clip the highlights by two stops you have nothing left to grade though, so there’s bit of a tension in what you try to achieve and the reality of a situation.

    2. Apparently (LOL) man must know it’s craft:
      – First, between what IRE values the DR of the camera it’s spread and then, the zebras must be set accordingly.
      – Second, LOG grading requires knowledge, applying a downloaded LUT effect on it, in most cases will yield bad results.

  4. Grading log footage is more complicated than just laying a LUT on shots.

Anyone that watches this misguided video and condemns the results needs to understand that shooting log is a process and many people do it incorrectly.
