A reader pointed me out to this crazy rumor posted on Weibo: According to this DJI and Huawei will work together to eventually launch an entirely new mirrorless camera system:

The news mentioned that DJI has strong technical strength in the field of drones and will apply its unique advanced anti-shake technology and intelligent flight shooting mode to system cameras. Huawei has rich experience and technology in the field of mobile photography, which can bring better image quality and more convenient operation experience.

Now, I really have no clue if this a solid rumor or more like BS. What I do truly believe is that chinese manufacturers have the skills and tech to create a new mirrorless system that can compete with the Japanese companies. And honestly, this would be good for competition!

This week DJI will announced the new XCD 20-35mm f/3.2-4.5 lens for their medium format camera system. I don’t have the price yet but here is an image of the lens:

There is now no more doubt about what’s going to be announced by Sigma on September 5. Images and specs have been leaked by SAR:

I am really not sure this is going to happen…but if it happens this is BIG news and will scare out the shit from classic Japanese manufacturers!

We got two new lens leaks!

SonyAlphaRumors leaked the first image of the Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM II lens that will be announced in late August.

And CanonRumors leaked the first image of the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Z

There are now the first wild rumors (meaning they are unconfirmed and not from reliable sources) that Canon will announce the new R1X in 2025. I think this is more like wishful thinking after the great disappointment of the R1. Canon clearly stated that the R1 was the ultimate flagship. However, I bet Canon will learn its lesson and perhaps announce a high-resolution flagship in 2-3 years. But before that we will get a new Sony A1II and a new Nikon Z9II that will raise the bar further.

On July 29 Leica registered a camera with code 4506. We don’t know what model…what’s your best guess? Reminder: ON July 12 Panasonic registered a camera with code P2403A which I think is a new S1H successor…

Reliable leaked How2Fly just tweeted that Hasselblad and Tamron will soon announce a new zoom lens! I have no idea yet about th possible specs but we know the Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5,6-6,3 VR lens is actually a Tamron design and is BIG. So this what what we are getting from Tamron?
