  1. I’ll have to see some reviews, hopefully this lens delivers, we were sorely missing a real macro

  2. I’ve not been able to find any sample photos on flickr or elsewhere taken with this lens on a fuji camera that were not taken by the lens manufacturer themselves. Seems no one is using it yet. I’m hoping for a big price drop for Christmas. Maybe it would be worth renting the lens to test it’s merits.

  3. In addition it would be nice if Fuji would make there own 50mm 1:1 macro that was weather resistant to pair with the XT1.

    1. 2 50mm macro lenses is probably not a good idea. An 85mm 1:1 would be a lot more useful as an additional macro.

      1. 85 is too long for my needs but I understand why some macro photographers like the 85-100 range.
Its certainly not likely fuji would create the exact same focal length but there is certainly plenty of overlap in current fuji / zeiss x lense lineup. I’d be happy with a 70mm WR macro probably so long as minimum focus distance was small.

      1. Wasn’t there some buzz (well, speculation) that the rumored 90mm lens was going to be a 1:1 macro? Hope springs eternal…

        1. no, I just reported what a new source told me: there could be a 90mm f2 lens. The source didn’t say anything about 1:1 macro

  4. Really wish this was 60-70mm. Nice that’s it 1:1 though. Fuji needs a killer macro in the 100m (FF equiv) range.

  5. xc50-230 with a decent +4 close up filter (canon, raynox, or xpro brand with multi element design) does 1:1 with a working distance around 20cm, Sharpness is surprisingly good and you get OIS.

  6. It would be nice if we something like a $200 50mm equivalent, maybe f2 and small. There was also a rumor on 43rumors about Sigma producing mirrorless ART series lenses that might be promising.
