  1. Had mine for a week now, first impressions:
    – Sharp wide open
    – Size is acceptable, lighter than expected.
    – Superb build quality
    – Love the pull back focus ring
    – Wide angle bokeh looks bokehlicious
    – Focus is quick and accurate and almost silent

    Dislikes
    – Lens cap old style, for shame Fuji! The new ones are far superior to the crappy old ones. This is no good for a 999 euro lens.
    – Lens hood. Basic, would have like a more solid one.

    1. On Some other primes, image quality wide open is not very acceptable for me. I often step down to f/2 or f/2.8. I hope the new 16mm is in a totally different world. Otherwise I’ll go get the 16-55.

      1. Yes, I got the 16 1.4 because it has 9 aperture blades, and WR. Those are the minimum for me. The older primes need an upgrade over the coming years for my taste… I think the current design of silent(ish) autofocus, snap back focus ring, marked aperture ring and WR is the way to go. The aperture still feels a bit too loose for my taste, I prefer the stiff ring like on the 50-140. Lens caps and hoods no to become more premium still to justify the price…

  2. Just got my lens today. Can’t wait to put it to use (sadly it’s to overcast here in texas to use it for my intended purpose. That will have to wait a bit.

And yeah… the lens cap is terrible. I’m about to just order a Nikon cap for all my lenses.

Tom – There will be a separately available metal lens hood released a bit later on. It looks pretty great.

    1. Yes, but knowing the cost of the X100T metal hood that you can buy separate, this won’t be cheap either I assume. Double no no for me.
