X-T1 / X-T10

– started by me, Patrick FR: “Real X-T10 Vs. Mock Up X-T10… which one do you prefer?” Ahead of the release of the X-T10, FR-reader Yoav send me a mock-up of the X-T10 with a thinner top plate. I shared the images and wanted to know which one the Fuji-X-Forum community prefers. See the pics and make your choice. It now includes also an image of the Fuji X-T10 with XF 35mmF2 WR lens!

    1. His recipe is really simple. You push certain brands (Sony, Olympus, Leica) in the hope that people will buy using the links on his site and you basically trash all the rest. Trashing the rest will fuel controversy, get people talking and bring more traffic to his site. Once you realize that his site is really pretty pathetic and utterly worthless.

  1. Sorry, why cannot by images in forum displayed? I don’t want to register anywhere. Please do not push to registration if you care about privacy.

  2. Why do people hate Fuji? bcse of skipping the update for x100s. The same will happen with XE-2. XE-2 users should buy XT-10 now. Simple stupid ‘kaizen’ 😛

    1. Just have to explain. bought x100s 2 months before x100t release. I would not care about classic chrome, el sutter or ect. However, fuji menu’s sucks and customisable Q button would make the camera more enjoyable to use. Somehow it’s hard to believe, that incremental FW upgrade would affect x100t sales. The ones that want to have better evf and wifi will buy x100t, others will stick to older versions.

    1. your shots are simply fantastic… every FR-reader out there should see them 🙂 Congratualtion

      1. Well, for me it’s the old lady in the corner of the quiet and lonely room. Me trying to evoke the feeling of old photographs by the great Eugene Smith. 🙂

    1. It’s Contradiction Day in Germany everyday. They call it privacy. Or Internet. Confusing. German is difficult.

        1. With the exception of t10 and lenses rumors there haven’t been any new information on new camera projects for quite some time.

      1. It’s been 8 months since x100t was released and there are no rumors about the new version so I’m guessing we won’t see it ’till end of year 2016. Bummer… I so want to invest in a digital rangefinder but the old sensor in x100t and a $1300 price isn’t cutting for me at the moment.

          1. You are missing my point. I don’t want to invest $1300 in a camera that to me is worth maybe $999. I don’t want to be pissed off in 6 months seeing x200 come out. I’ll stick to my 6D for the time being.

          2. “but the old sensor in x100t”
            “I’ll stick to my 6D”

You get the irony, don’t you?
The 6Ds sensor is made in 500nm with off sensor ADCs. That stone age for sensors. Still, the images are good.

          3. Irony? Please…I got a 6D a long time ago and I rather stick to it than pay $1300 for a new camera with an outdated sensor, so what that it still produces great photo quality? 5D or D600 have great photo qualities as well yet they aren’t selling for what they used to 3 years ago. Would you pay right now $2500 for 5D mark ii or $2000 for D600 cause the sensor can still produce amazing photographs? Of course not, Are you getting the message?

          4. and that pretty much sums up why some bloggers hate fuji, because the fanboys help to keep the prices high on old sensors…just saying.

          5. simple marketing is part of simple economics, having said that very little is simple in economics hence the requirement for a phd. but, sure, it makes for an intuitive observation

          6. $1300 for a new camera with a 3 year old sensor… hmm let’s analyze this. You said that you wanted a digital RF camera but can’t justify the price because of old technology. Ok, who else in the market makes digital RF? Sorry can’t think of any other but Leica. But wait, let’s price check…Leica m8 goes for an average $1500 SECOND hand with an almost decade old sensor, Leica m9 $3600 on ave. For 2nd hand with 5++ year old sensor tech. Even if its ff for those jurassic tech, those price are RIDICULOUs, RIGHT?

Forget about the new leicas, the price will make your head spin and all of the above does not even have a lens. Want a,lens with that? Throw in minimun. North of a couple of thousands for 2nd hand too. That is if you want the really good ones.

Mentioning the sbove, if you cannot see the value of a Fuji for $1300 BRAND NEW- sans the 3 yr old tech sensor you will be better off with a Sony or any of the canikon, Olympus camera.

If you’re still adamant about the RF form, that’s the price of admission. Unless you want to wait longer until the organic sensor comes out. But even that has uncertainties depending on how successful the organic sensor will be since it is seldom that 1st Gen technology doesn’t come with any issue.

          7. I can get a brand new x100s and pay $850. Is it going to be as good as x100t in some functions? No, but it will produce the same quality photographs at a 35% discount. Let’s not compare x100t pricing to Leica’s. Completely different cameras and with exception of rangefinder there is nothing “same” about them. For someone who already has a mid level DSLR with a bigger sensor, better low light performance , good RAW conversion, option of changing a lens, better video and no oil or dust issues why the hell are they going to pay $1300 to go with x100t? x100t better be an improvement and in reality the only improvement I am getting is a hybrid viewfinder and smaller size. I don’t think it is worth it for now and I will wait for a new version. For a new person without a camera x100t might be a better choice although that high price may sway them over to Sony. Don’t take me wrong, I appreciate Fuji creating x100 and then putting effort in improving it by releasing x100s and x100t. x100t 3 years ago would have been a killer and totally worth $1300. These are great cameras and a bit of a niche market and Fuji people weren’t afraid to pull the trigger and produce it. I just think that the sensor itself is lacking(by today standards) comparing to the competition(non RF style cameras). To be honest with you, if it had a full frame sensor from 6D in it I would gladly pay $1300. I am happy with my 6D and don’t find any need to upgrade it. I might keep it for another 3 years. I do want a smaller camera to carry around everyday and x100t is perfect for it but not at this price point.

          8. In the end it is your decision as it is your money. All I am saying is it is what it is and that is the price for admission because honestly with all the complaints about its price the x100t thrives because it fills a void left by leica and that is being affordable in relative terms of form and function = the rangefinder experience. As for the x100s price of course it will be cheaper, it is a superceded model. Just like jordan or lebron nike shoes the old ones gets discounted when the new model comes out but you can run just as well with them as with the new ones.

  3. Only a binary outcome will cause me to move from my X-E2. When it stops working or there’s an X-E3 released

  4. What a stupid remark.

XE-2 costs 400 euros less to start with from the beginning of its introduction then X-T1.

Basically you paid less and get less.
Which is a simple fact in life.

Move on and accept that you had your share in a cheaper body to start with. Just because it can be done doesn’t mean Fuji is obliged to do so.
You paid less already and that now turns out in the simple fact that Fuji is giving those people that have paid less a little less support.

I assume you bought your camera on what it could do, based on the specifications as were advertised, not based up on what could eventually come.

Grow up on and stop whining.

  5. Can we expect a Fuji summer campaign with rebate on x-t1, x100t and lenses? In other words; does Fuji Film usually offer rebates during the summer?

  6. Why do people hate Fuji? bcse of skipping the update for x100s.

I can find some Sony trolls on this very website who predate the X100t, never mind firmware updates.

  7. I hate Fuji but I don’t have acceptable alternatives for a while. Reasons:
    1. Crop.
    2. X-Trans.

      1. Nope. Prices are reasonable if you don’t buy novelties in the first half a year of their life or buy used stuff in mint condition.

        1. 2nd hand price are quite favorable. But for new ones, even with current price I think it is still maybe $50-150 more expensive.

    1. Quite funny remarks
Crop : was not exactly breaking news – you new that when you bought your Fuji
X-Trans : was not exactly breaking news – you new that when you bought your Fuji

Price (from Chris) : when you buy something there is usually a proce tag, not exactly secret either
So, honestly, what’s to hate ?

      1. I’m glad you have a fun. Have you read my message above those two list items? The price is not my argument. Have more fun.

        1. Did you read what I wrote : I said Price (From Chris) saving having to write two nearly identical messages to people complaining about obvious things
Don’t like Crop ? buy a FF body
Don’t like XTrans ? buy from another brand or a second hand X100
          ….And be done with it
In the meantime, have a great day

          1. OK fella, I see you have your own zen. But please don’t bother others with it.

          2. Whatever.
Best wishes in your quest for a non-crop/non X-Trans Fuji. Next time RTFM (Read The F***g Manual) before you buy, that might avoid disappointment.

  8. Look what bigheadtaco posted on youtube

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPJGeBq_r5I

bigheadtaco : I think Fujifilm is going to keep both the SLR style and rangefinder design cameras. The X-Pro 2 will probably adopt the X100T’s hybrid viewfinder and use the upcoming organic sensor. The X-E3 will probably also receive the same sensor but early next year. If I hear of anything that I’m allowed to mention, I’ll let everyone know on my main blog at http://www.bigheadtaco.com. For now, I know the X-Pro 2 is waiting for this sensor to be built in collaboration with Panasonic. This info is directly from Fujifilm Japan. So don’t worry about the X-E3. It will be made eventually.

  9. There are something to work with and something to play with.

Honestly, Fuji makes great lens. But Fuji does not play the game “technically”. Optical quality wise, Canikon and Sony have superb lens and body Fuji cannot win in optical quality. There is also raw processing issue with Fuji. But over those brands, Fuji offers a small system and fun shooting experience. Its in-camera raw conversion produces quite lovely results. Fuji’s value is not in specs. However, if you look at how other brands do marketing, they typically will present spec to customers. It is very clear that Fuji is modifying old Sony sensor, and lens are great but not top notch. Oh, price is pretty high for an APSC system. Some cheaper full frame lens do not perform worse than Fuji’s apsc lens. This is why some people have a dislike for Fuji. But for others, user experience is priceless. The same likes and dislikes are very commonly seen when people are talking about android and iOS.

I personally like my Fuji because it is a fun camera. But I am well aware that my A7 and vintage lens can have better optical quality. I just returned a XF23 because it is less impressive compared with a minolta 35/1.8 lens mounted on A7. But will I trade the Fuji for other gears? I don’t think so. But eventually Fuji will be a good secondary system in addition to a FF set-up.

  10. Fuji offer the 16-50 kit lens, that is wide oriented. I though that they must offer a alternative, like a 21-70 that would be a tele oriented kit lens. The 18-55, albeit is a classic range, is no meat-no fish.
