Release the new sensor! It’s not 2012 anymore
If they don’t have a new sensor, how are they going to release it. They could purchase a newer sensor, and release it with a Bayer colour filter or with another version of the X-trans colour filter. However, I don’t think they have anything new yet.
Whichever sensor they choose, I would prefer a Bayer colour filter, as the resolution and fine details will be slightly better due to the less complex algorithm. That said, if some company could develop a significantly improved 1:1 Fovean-like sensor (with much improved high-ISO performance and smoother highlight transitions when shooting into the sun) that would be optimal.
The colour filter remains the primary weakness of digital sensor technology…
I am green with envy seeing that your photography skills have improved so much that you have managed to overgrow the existing sensor to the point that you must have the next generation
Wow, there you go again. What could possoibly be better than the current X-trans sensor?
Many things could be better and many things could be improved and I guess Fuji realises that it would be their bottom line’s best interest to release a new crop of cameras. It is just that asking for a new sensor at every possibility, however remotely related to rumors, is getting old and tiring, don’t you think. In particular, this post was about enjoying what good images people make (and as far as I am concerned it could “even” be produced with other brands and models, I could not care less as long as the images are inspiring, tell a story or are simply good)
99.(9)% of LR presets and PS “look” plugins are created for the “blah” Canikion colors and contrasts straight from ACR. Applied over Fuji film simulations they look horrible.
Just sayin’.
Glad I saw this. Was thinking of getting some presets. Are there any out there that will work with Fuji?
From my experience, Nik collection does fine out of the box.
VSCO… just forget it.
Kubota presets… nope.
Most of the other presets and plugins require some serious tweaking.
