Cine lenses have no definite f-stops, but are adjustable continuously. What I’m trying to say is, while turning the aperture ring it doesn’t click to definite f-stops, but you can dial in every micro step in between, which makes sense for videography. Usually it’s no problem with photography, but you always have to check the aperture, because the ring might be adjusted by accident in the one direction or the other after pulling your camera out of a bag or so.
It’s only £285 in England …… Which is a mere $440. I’d much rather pay more than 2x than that which the US pays….. I hate getting things cheaper, I don’t know what I’d do if we got sales all the time like you guys over the pond…. Probably have more lenses and maybe another body but who cares
They’ve had the 6.5mm (Opteka, but made by same folks as this Rokinon) one for $149 (SLR)/$159 (mirrorless) for all mounts. It’s bulkier, as it’s a SLR design adapted to work with the Fuji’s flange distance. I’m about to pull the trigger on the Nikon one myself (I own a D7100 and a X-E2) and use an adapter I already have to give me twice the options. It’s MF and has an aperture ring, so there’s not much a competent adapter could screw up. Though as noted, this 8mm is a much more compact solution than the 6.5mm.

🙁 Too late
Dang! missed it
What’s the difference between the Cine and regular ones?
if I am not mistaken, cine lens have a lower definition as high def is not needed (even in 4K). That’s what I have always understood anyway
