The Fujifilm X-E5 is still fairly new, yet in my opinion it is already one of the most brilliant Fujifilm cameras ever made. In fact, I would already place it among the top 10 most important Fujifilm digital cameras of all time.
The Fujifilm X-E5 has also proven to be a solid commercial success, with stock running low—especially for the bundle version. Here on FujiRumors, it is performing roughly on par with the X-T5 in terms of sales, second only to the untouchable X100VI.
All of this is quite remarkable when you consider how often the Fujifilm X-E line seemed to be on the verge of extinction.
Back in early 2020, Fujifilm removed the X-E4 from its internal roadmap, which effectively signaled the end of the X-E series.
A vigorous protest from X-E fans followed, and a few months later, our sources informed us that an updated internal roadmap once again included the X-E4.
A final attempt. A final chance. Enter the Fujifilm X-E4.
But the Fujifilm X-E4 also failed—this time, however, largely because of Fujifilm’s poor planning.
I believe Fujifilm eventually recognized that the X-E4 debacle was caused by its own mistakes rather than by a lack of interest in the line. That realization likely helped bring us the X-E5.
And this time, Fujifilm made many of the right decisions with the X-E5: premium build quality, the elegant film simulation dial, and charming new touches such as the vintage EVF display.
The Fujifilm X-E line now seems to be back on the right path, and I think we can say with reasonable confidence that an X-E6 will arrive at some point.
So today’s question is simple:
If you own any Fujifilm X-E camera, would you upgrade to the Fujifilm X-E6 if it came with 6th-generation improvements?
