Yesterday FR-reader Andrew wrote me an email and asked me if there are Tilt Shift lenses for the Fuji X. I told him that Samyang will release a 24mm T-S lens… and I’ve realised that I’ve never told you about it, so I’ll do it now!
At last year’s photokina Samyang presented the 24mm f/3.5 Tilt Shift lens.
It will be initially available with mounts for Canon EF, Nikon F and Sony A. Versions with Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX and Sony will also be released afterwards.
The first T-S lenses are now in stock. Check the Samyang T-S at [shoplink 12411]your amazon here[/shoplink] and [shoplink 12411 ebay]your ebay here[/shoplink]
There are also the first reviews on the web, as this one of ephotozine (for the Canon version).
“Although this tilt-shift lens is far from being an inexpensive optic, with its launch price being over £500 less than equivalents from Canon or Nikon, it does bring tilt-shift control within the reach of more people. It manages to be less expensive, whilst offering excellent optical performance, great build quality and handling. Those in the market for a tilt-shift lens should definitely add this to this list of considered optics.”
You can read also the Samyang T-S presentation (with sample pics) here at samyang.pl.
enjoy your day

24mm on x?…it’s a 35mm equivalent, no good wide for TS-E
TS-E was born for a FF only
if you like TS-E lens buy a 17 TS-E and a full frame camera no a compact mirrorless…
do you like big lens (1kg)?…buy a FF DSLR too…
MIRROR LESS is a compact camera
I am using a 90mm TS lens and that’s perfect. How do you manage still-life and table tops? I think that The Samyang will work great on the Fuji and is quite versatile.
I have been waiting for this TS lens for years! I bought a Sony version to use with A99 and A77 for a 35mm equivalent view. Would definitely use with Fuji X-E1 through adapter!
I’m sure if the sales go well, Samyang will make more focal lengths available. For now 24mm is the most versatile to me.
There is also a review of the Canon variant on Lenstip (http://www.lenstip.com). I’ve not given it great study, though the summary suggests that the optics are pretty good but the lens is let down a bit by the mechanical aspects.
Don’t forget about the Kipon tilt-shift adapter. It can turn FF lenses into t-s lenses on the Fuji x mount at around $360.
If you could get your hands on older Nikon glass with an aperture ring it gives you a great option.
The guys over at lensrental.com did a two part review on this lens as well: http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2013/05/first-look-at-the-rokibowyang-24mm-f3-5-tilt-shift-lens-part-1
