Listed at BHphoto, but still not available for pre-order: Fuji’s newly announced Macro Extension Tubes
_ _ _
Back on the 20th of November, Fujifilm officially announced the Macro Extension Tube MCEX-11 and MECX-16.
randallcipriano tested the MCEX-11 version on the 27, 56, 35, 23 and 18-55. You can see the samples on his blog here.

Samples looks great!
Samples looks great?
It’s an empty tube with a Fuji male/female bayonet attached what’s to be tested?
I have used macro rings with MF Konica Hexanon lenses and the results was not as good.
Empty tube with full contacts (unless I am mistaken) worth checking to see how the Fuji lenses react; So yes worth a test
I almost missed the link to the samples. Looks great but 90€ for each ring? Seriously?
What is the point when there are numerous proven alternatives for 1/4 of the price!?
The difference is the Fuji extension tubes have full electrical connectivity, allowing autofocus and autoexposure. If you buy the cheap empty tubes with no contacts, you cannot set the aperture (and neither can the camera) and you get no autofocus.
I am not even sure you can focus a Fuji lens manually without the electrical connection; when I look into the lens on a 35mm while moving the focus ring, nothing happens unless the lens is mounted and the camera is turned on.
As soon as they come out, I am buying one…
I have a Canon Extension tube for my Canon gears, and I really like them….
I just bought MCEX-11 version, 0,60 on my 23 1.4 will be very good (it’s identical to 60)
