  1. Confused why lens caps and shades are listed separately . . . does Zeiss usually charge extra for hoods?

    1. This is confusing. If the hoods and/or caps are extra this will pit me off to the company. If is like. nikon charging extra for the foot on their 70-200 f/4. A hood should not be an option.

  2. I’m sure these are gorgeous lenses, and I don’t like to harp on about this, but the US prices are WAY cheaper than what us poor schmucks in Australia will pay (according to a previous post which displayed the camerpro preliminary pricing as being $1499 for each of the new Zeiss X-mount lenses). This is true even after accounting for the Australian GST. Lookit:

The 32/f1.8 is only $900US, at today’s exchange rate, that’s $876AU. Add 10% GST and you get $963.60 AU. That is, the camerapro $1499 AU price is fully $536 AU dearer than the US price!!!!

The 12/2.8 is $1250US or $1216.50AU, plus GST it’s $1337, or at camerapro $161.35 over the US price.

I’ll give camerapro the benefit of the doubt here to adjust their ‘preliminary pricing’ according to these US release pricings, but I would be surprised if there is not at least a +10-15% differential that wont come out in the wash.

    1. It feels like CameraPro has no idea what the real price is going to be in Australia as both lens have the same price. This can’t be true, 32mm is noticeably cheaper in both U.S. and Europe.
