You’ve read it? So here are the next ones.
Don Craig says here:
“Fujifilm X-E2 sets new standard. Is it reason enough to upgrade? My conclusion is that although the X-E2 is an evolution of the Fujifilm X-cameras, the improvements in the shooting experience, along with the refinements that Fujifilm have made, has now turned the X-E2 into a want-to-have camera. This was a surprise to me. I didn’t think that I would be looking for an upgrade or a change in cameras, but I am seriously considering taking one more step in the eternal chase for the best possible shooting experience.”
Patrick la Roque‘s feedback can be read here:
“[…] as far as AF is concerned it’ll only get better: this pre-production model couldn’t make full use of the capabilities of the new hardware with the current generation of lens firmware. But my lenses were still much faster when mounted on the X-E2 and we’re bound to see even more improvements when the final product is released and everything else follows as it usually does. […] If the devil is in the details, this thing’s a demon — A good lil’ demon.”

“…has now turned the X-E2 into a want-to-have camera”.
LOL — in other words, another camera to “want”. If only we could all have what we want instead of accepting what we need…..
I don’t know how contact you but I like to point that 16 october was the date to release the 23 1.4. Now all the people that pre ordered the lens have no clue about when this lens will be released. Can you find any info about that? The same with the 56 1.2. I am a professional photographer that want to use Fuji equipment but at the moment I have to trust in manual Leica lenses and I would prefer to purchase the original Fuji lenses. Evidently Fuji put all in the amateur consumer and forgot all the professionals. Is incredible that after all that time we can’t get a prime 35 and 85-90 equivalent to work. Not to mention a trusty fast tracking focus to use with some big teles, like 300 or 400 equivalent.
The 23 should come by the end of October, and the 56 early next year.
What the heck are you talking about? Sounds like you need a DSLR.
If you want the fast-track AF you have it in the upcoming XE-2, but just like the 23mm you’re going to need to wait for it to be in stock. You’ll survive.
But who on earth uses a 300 / 400mm prime on a MILC? Just use a DSLR if you’re shooting sports.
BTW, the 90mm equivalent lens is the WONDERFUL 60mm Fuji macro — you should try it. Razor sharp. Cheap. Light. NOT FOR SPORTS.
Sorry Mr. Calking but appear that you have nothing to do with photography. Continuous focus tracking is a must for a pro consumer, not only for sports. The main reason? all pros used SRL’s that have this function since decades. I think is not a stupid thing what I asking. But include if you put aside this topic, I still can’t understand this thing that they released the X100 and x100’s and not take in account a professional profile who use almost all the time a 35 mm equivalent prime. Same with the 56mm. Forget the continuous tracking and put the attention in the this two focal lens. Is incredible that they don’t released them together with the X Pro 1. And Pro means professional I guess. What do you think?
You must be new to the Fuji X-system.
The XE1 and XP1, the X100s and X20, XM1, XA1 all feature focus tracking. There are hundreds of examples of action photos taken with all of these bodies on the internet. I’ve taken them myself with my XE-1 and an 18-55 lens. It’s also no secret that none of these cameras were designed to be high-speed shooters. MOST pros would ever buy a MILC system for shooting high-speed action — sounds like you are one of the few that expect a MILC to do what a DSLR does, and what professionals actually use for that type of professional work.
The XE-1 features IMPROVED focus tracking, so you’re just complaining — put yourself on the list to buy one and wait to get it, just like everyone else who wants one.
Your 23mm lens will come shortly. Must be a really terrible experience having to use garbage like Leica because the 23mm isn’t already available.
Last, these are APS-C sensor cameras, so your crop factor is 1.5. You complained about the lack of a 85-90mm equivalent lens. A 56mm lens = 84mm. A 60mm lens = 90mm. Fuji already makes the 60mm and it’s an excellent lens.
I have the X Pro 1 and have not tracking focus in continuous mode. When you press the shutter the focus remain the same and not follow the subject. That is what I am talking. Sorry if I expressed bad, I am not native english spoken. Yes, experience with Leica lens are terrible specially with the model of the 90 2.8 (135 equivalent) I have. Lot of time doing corrections of the RAW image. The 60 Fuji is and slooow excellent lens.
Sorry folks, I still don’t believe the hype. I’ll wait for the X-Pro2. Or a FF X200, if my wishes come true …
Well, after all the other cameras that got released this past weeks I think its a hard act for Fuji fans to follow. What we have here is same functions assigned to different buttons and the sensor complex of the x100s.
A necessary update, but in relation to other makers efforts, nothing special.
I got a feeling that Fuji found out they make more money this way, releasing slightly older technology in lots of different packages/cameras, and not trying new things that often. No matter what you think of the XPro1 … the E1 was much more successful.
FF might be a long way away, if you decide to wait for Fuji. Its amazing, I think Sony spent quite a bit of time in the various Fuji forums, every wish is catered for actually. Fuji clearly finds the middle of the market more profitable.
I’m waiting for the X-E4…I’ve heard it’ll make coffee
I’m waiting for the X-E4 to buy the X-E2 which sounds really wonderful.
Hopefully lightroom will fully support the X-Trans sensor by then, and the prices of the x-e2 will go down.
Great work on all the info here on Fuji Rumors Patrick (and Rico!)!!! The X-E2 looks like a great body and should be a great camera for many people! I love the updates and am excited about the AF! I am surprised by the max shutter speed of 1/4000 given that Fuji has so much fast glass, and soon to be really fast with the 56 f/1.2.
I am excited to see what the X-Pro2 could possibly be like as I think the X-E2 leaves room for a flagship to have some great upgrades. Any word on the X-Pro2 possibly having 1/8000 shutter speed, 24p video, faster flash sync or updated viewfinder?
Keep up the great work! The X-E2 looks like a winner and should strongly pave the way for a future X-Pro2!
56 f/1.2 + minimal ISO of 200 + maximal shutter speed of 1/4000 = nd filter
Come on dude!!! Your comment adds ZERO value… Please re-read my original comment and evaluate how you would see the X-Pro2 specs given what the X-E2 provides…
