GET A FREE X-PRO1!!! Fuji X-PRO1 + 27mm + 35mm for just $949! :: Fuji X-PRO1 with 27mm for $799!

 photo pro1_zps9x1tz59t.jpg

That’s a good one: BHphoto is selling the X-PRO1 with 35mm and 27mm for just $949 here! They also offer the X-PRO1 with the 27mm for $799.

Consider that the XF 35mm and the XF 27mm cost $1098 if purchased separately… you basically get a FREE X-PRO1… which you can later on resell on ebay, if you just need the lenses 😉

    1. Because it hasn’t been at a high price for a long time (it’s long been bundled with multiple lens deals), and because it’s still a good camera. It’s AF system is significantly behind the curve now, meaning you tend to take a more considered approach to picture taking than you might with an X-T1, but there is something about using the Pro that goes beyond mere specs.

I don’t use it as much as I did now, but every time I do, I wonder why I don’t use it more.

      1. Most people end up using the most convenient things. That price should be another 30% off to make a great deal. Used to be a $1700 usd camera. I sometimes think Fuji did well to convince people to pay this much on it.

          1. That means I hardly even think the two lens worth the asking price. These 3 together finally reached their value. If I received this for free it would end up on fredmiranda for the same price being sold separately before or after this deal. otherwise I have already ordered 5 expecting to make a little extra pocket money.

            hmph, free gears…

          2. God you talk some rubbish dude. On one forum you’re super-excited and getting deep into the analytics of Sony’s BSI buzzword ‘revolution’ (Thom Hogan’s analysis of this is illuminating) on another your saying a lineup of contemporary lenses can’t compete with film lenses that which mostly can’t resolve 12mp on 35mm. Give me a break.

          3. I hardly praise what I use. Sorry I have no love and passion when buying and using anything. And I DONT think xf23 is anywhere better than rokkor x 35/1.8 on any A7 body. XF1655 is what I end up with. That’s the only lens I am interested under the Fuji brand.

          4. My friend’s D610 and sigma 35 positively destroys both of them. It’s priced similarly too. But of course, that’s not really the point.

What do most people use primes for? I bet 50% will respond with “shooting things that sometimes move in lowlight [or] to blur the background in front of/behind things that sometimes move”.

If this doesn’t apply, stop down, work off a tripod and buy two zooms. If it does apply, best of luck punching in and checking focus on your film primes.

          5. Most Fuji prime are not appealing unless stepping down to f/2.8 if you compare with Sigma or Sony lens. What I realize is that many primes are even worse than XF16-55/2.8 at same aperture.

I have multiple systems and intend to keep doing so in coming years. That means I am going to be critical when choosing gears.

The price issue is something easy to share. Are you willing to pay $1,700 USD for a X-pro1 today?

          6. So what are you disagreeing with by going the same direction with me? Me personally or my statement.

          7. Well. You only added the relevant reply after I wrote that. So the thing you wrote 15 minutes ago I disagree with. I can assure you my skills are totally fine but if you can shoot documentary wide open with a manual focus lens on a full frame mirrorless camera and have a hit rate that is even 20% as good as a DSLR with autofocus lens then you are extraordinary or deluded.

          8. Luke, I can tell you shooting wide open on my M240 I have far more keepers than I did shooting fast glass on my various Canon cameras.

As for Fuji, I was one of the suckers who paid $1600 just for the body but hey, it is what it is. I disagree with Chris the Fuji lenses are great, especially the 23mm f/1.4

          9. I must add, Fuji is not a superb or easy system to pair with film lens. Sony does better with a7 in that particular area.

On Fuji you have deeper DOF. If you find yourself miss focusing a lot, check your skills or blame Fuji’s focusing aid.

          10. I know the DOF is deeper on APS-C. It’s still less effectual than autofocus.

          11. I’m not impressed with xt1’s AF as I rarely compare it to anything worse. However, as i concern, leica folks do well hamdling their mf cameras. It’s just modern photographers got spoiled by electronics.

          12. I think you must be quite a sad person to re-edit your comments four times over a period of an hour after putting it up. You sound like a gearhead; not a photographer. Case closed.

          13. What’s the problem if i edit before you reply? Or you simply enjoy separating things into multiple posts?

I’m task critical. Are you task critical?

          14. You reedit before I reply and incorporate my reply into your edit. This is rude.

          15. I take it you are speaking from a vast wealth of experience using these lenses? Granted the 27mm and 35mm are probably too close together in focal lengths to be a viable start of a system, but the lenses are both extremely good. I bought into this by getting an X-Pro1 at reduced price with an 18mm and 35mm thrown in for free.

Even with the one-lens kit, you are getting an extremely well built (albeit two generations old) camera for $350, new in box. That’s about the price they go for used on eBay.

Buying cameras and lenses as investments to trade on fredmiranda is an idiotic idea, IMO. People who buy and sell cameras professionally are struggling to make money, why would you be any better? The investment should be in your time and enjoyment, and if you can then sell on or trade in the cameras for some amount once you have come to the end of that time and enjoyment with that camera, that’s a bonus.

These products are not discounted because they are bad, they are discounted because they are perceived as ‘old’ by parts of a photographic community that has lost the ability to see a camera or a lens as anything apart from a shiny trinket to be discarded after a few months.

          16. Of course it’s not a bad camera. Yet I don’t believe you would pay $1,700 usd for a new XP1 today. If you find that $1,700 usd price expensive, you are sharing the same feeling (maybe to a different degree) with me on current issue.

            Have or owned xe1, xt1, xf23, xf35, xf56, xf1024, xf1655, xf55-200. Tried over 2 dozens of film lens on xt1 and A7.

PS. There is no bad camera. Only wrongly priced ones.

      2. I agree that the X-Pro1 is kind of a bitch, but once you know your baby well enough, it is still an awesome device. Agree that the AF is not state at the art and honestly never was… but I learned to deal with it. The X-Pro1 is until now still my primary device (I can’t spend all my money just on buying a new camera system every now and then) and I am still very happy with it. From a quality aspect (once you get the image right), I am sure to be pretty close to the level of the actual X-T1. I often go shooting with some friends who own D610s, D810s etc.. But honestly, I never had the feeling that my end results have been far off. No, I just know my baby very well and in many cases, my friends look enviously on my pictures at the end. Yes, I am also looking for a refresh in form of the X-Pro2, but right now, I use what I have. And most likely, the limit is me, not the camera…

    2. Replace “can” with “try to”. The Pro1 has never lit the world on fire in terms of sales, and it’s not about to start doing so now. All the deals on it are to try and reduce losses as the Pro1 is in no position to make profit now and the Pro2 is on the way. Just because a camera is priced at a particular level does not mean it is actually selling at that price point.

      1. Interesting point. If Fuji hadn’t released the X-E1 soon after the XP1, would the entire line have failed?

        1. Unlikely. The Pro1 hasn’t sold well, but the lenses have. Few people may buy a body, but if half of everyone who buys a body also picks up 3-4 lenses, you’re doing okay. Camera bodies don’t make a whole lot of money anyway—about £40 for every £1000 on the shelf price—so a body failing at market is bad but not devastating enough to kill a product line as long as lenses and accessories sell. This is very likely why Fuji’s official accessories are so massively overpriced; it’s genuinely very likely they make more money selling a lens hood or a battery than they do selling a body. It’s also likely why Fuji don’t mind putting some time into free body firmware updates instead of getting new bodies out sooner, while they advertise the lens roadmap far more. Fuji have only had two cameras sell well—the X100 line and the X-T1—but their lens sales more than compensate.

  1. You can get similar deal @ Adorama. It’s under X Pro1 w/ Premium Bundle, and select “Save up to $899 with Bundle”, and select “Camera Lens Deals”, and add 27mm and 35mm to the bundle. For $976 you get 4% cash back reward, extra Fuji battery, Lexar 32GB 600x SD card, USB card reader, aluminum card case, Lowepro bag, HDMI cable, glass screen protector, 39mm UV, lens wrap, cleaning kit * 2, Capleash II * 2, 52mm UV, 52mm CPL, 52mm ND2, lens pouch, and Lenspen.

  2. I am looking forward to the xpro2. I bought the xe1 when it was new over the xpro1 because of the better evf and built in flash. However given all the subsequent improvements to the xpro1 I think I would have purchased this over the xe1. The large rise in the U.S. Dollar has enabled Fuji to drop prices. I also suspect they had a healthy profit margin factored in on their initial prices

  3. interesting that the xpro1 has fallen so far behind that fuji resorts to essentially giving them away to deplete inventory, and why not, once you start buying glass fuji is locking you into ecosystem, wow with so many attractive other choices, fuji must be suffering looking at xpro2 timeline, opinions of course, i am a fuji fan, but they r e a l l y need to look at that timeline

  4. Wow, that really is a great deal. Was wondering if such a KIT is also available for purchase in the EU region. Does anyone know a dealer with a similar offer? I would be very interested in pairing the X-PRO1 with the 35mm – and of course a second lens if it comes at such a good price 🙂

    1. It is, in the EU it has been sold quite a while for 899 euro including VAT.
I bought it as a fun street camera to accompany my X-T1 and to get the 18 as well as the 27 mm lenses. Quite a no brainer at that price. It’s actually cheaper than buying the 2 lenses alone. You also get the leather full cover for the camera along with it.

      1. Thanks Tommy, I’m very well aware of this offer. However, as I mentioned I would favor to have the X-PRO1 paired with the 35mm as I already have an X100s and therefore am looking for a bit of a longer focal length (also, both the 18mm and 27mm are very close to the 23mm of the x100s…)

        1. Ah yes, unfortunately they kit with 35mm still goes for 1099 or something close to that. A set would be nice, agreed! 14 and 35 would be a nice set 🙂

Oh wait, I wasn’t reading it correctly, the B&H offer is the 27mm AND 35mm! My bad! I thought it was the Fuji super deal with the 27. (quite happy with the zeiss 32 though, only downside is the rubber rings instead of metal rings)

  5. Still use and love my xpro-1. Sure, I have some Xt-1 envy right now, but I’ll invest in more Fuji glass and then see what the X-pro2 has to offer. If still not enough to make me “upgrade” then I just wait for the XT-2. I do admit however that my x100s gets a lot more use then the X-pro at the moment. (I have both conversion lenses for it). For me, it’s still an amazing time to be a fujifilm patron and don’t regret a single thing

  6. With these heavy rebates on the X-Pro’s which are already going on for a few month. I really can’t imagine that the X-Pro 2 will be delayed again. To me it looks very much like stock clearance to make room for a newer model.

Even though the rumors here have reported the opposite.

    1. Also makes me wonder if they’re trying to clear the 35mm and/or 27mm. There was that rumor a while ago about a second generation 35mm…. Although the 27mm wouldn’t really fit that theory being a bit newer…

  7. Owning the X-T1 with the 18-135, I sprung for this offer to try out the lenses at a decent price and then planned to sell the XP1. I actually like the look of the XP1 and may want to keep it. For walking around NYC the XT1 is great. I haven’t taken out my Canon 5D in a while.
