  1. Same here.
Although this could be my chance to finally jump from the adobe ship.
The only two things that still keep me there, are the organization of the files and the book module.
Maybe I get photoninja additionally to my LR4.4.

  2. That’s good, i’m glad they even noticed something like that ! Might have been terribly annoying if they didn’t. Subtle color hues like that are quite important if you’re as picky as me, especially when it comes to skin tones. Consistent color reproduction seems to be Lightroom’s strong suit. 🙂

  3. I have tried them all and find the least compromises with Capture 1 (except on price of course). I really love LR and hoped they would improve the support (demosiacing algorithms) for X-Trans but that seems to be a non-issue for the folks at Adobe.

The move to C1 involved a bit of a learning curve, but now that I am there I am liking some of its features in filing better than LR. Sessions vs catalogs is huge and very cool once you understand them. C1 rendering is also excellent in my experience both in color and detail.

  4. Moved from adobe to Capture One 7 Express and found it excellent, not only for X-trans but my old Nikon raw files as well. A few weeks ago i upgraded to the Pro version when they had a 30% off sale (30% discount on all purchases, upgrades and full versions). I purchased Express version when they had a 50% off sale.

The only complaint about C1 7 that I seem to read is price, but they do have sales. C1 seems to require the least work to get the best results, results that may take more time or not be totally possible with adobe. At least that has been my experience. Certainly worth a try, 60 day trials are free

    1. “C1 seems to require the least work to get the best results” – that’s my experience too. I also like the ability to customize it as much as I want when it comes to workplace.

  5. Checked handling of X-E2 raw files in the new ACR and I must admit the performance is outstanding. Shadow recovery results are on par with Df nefs and much better than 6D raws (+2 EV, +100 shadows, +50 clarity). I’m glad I haven’t bought a 6d today morning and now I’m definetely considering swith to X-E2. I love shooting nightscapes so shadow recovery factor was of greate importance for me. Acuity and fine details in RAFs also improved in this update of ACR.
