BOOM! There it is. It’s really happening!!
First! ??
The question is not if, but when. It should be *yawn* 2016
exactly, it was coming, but when? that’s the real question
What is the lead time for MIIT registration? Why would they register 3 months in advance, and waste perfectly good Christmas season at least for preorders (even if delivery is in January)?
My wish for X-Pro2, actually they are a must features to take my money for a Pro cam (X-Pro2 will cost 20-30% more than X-T1):
– 24MP
– 1/8000s of shutter speed
– Cleaner 6400iso with 7-8 DR
– No current X-Trans (or really much improved)
– No waxy JPEG files above 2000iso + NR Off and +/-5
– All PDAF ponts
– AF sensitivity at least -2EV (no more poor 0EV, or -1EV) !!!
– Back & front comand dial (like in X-T1)
– Custom Modes (it’s a shame Fuji in 4 years did’t offier them!)
– More direct Fn buttons (1 is a yoke)
– Bigger buttons, especially back AF-ON perfectly placed niear thumb
– All buttons configurable with all features, no limits
– Weather sealed
– Tilt screen
I would like
– A bit smaller than X-PRO1
I’m all with you except for the tilt screen! That’s for the X-T1 and the other general purpose cams. The PRO is a niche camera for street photography and prime lenses (18 – 60 mm).
For street tilt screen helps a lot! It lets to shoot from loins position without the crowd notcie around you. I am street shooter and journalist, tilt screen gives me more chances to take great of people shots. I
Well I know some people find tilting screens really useful, but I don’t like it on the PRO, and I don’t think there will be one either. Keep it simple, less is more! ?
Not as simple as before, please! 😉 Compare how less features Fuji offered compared to Oly, Panasonic, Nikon, Sony mirrorels at base when camere was released – no Custom Modes, silly breacketing with 1EV only, poor AF in dim/low light with only 0EV (still the poorest in competition), only 1 Fn dirrect buton, poorly configuralbe buttons, poor JPGs settings – no NR OFF and only -/+2 NR, waxy files – Pana/Oly files looks more detailed with samller 4/3 sensor, AWB working so so in mixed or arifical lighting, many problems with X-Trans sensor, etc. I would like Fuji to bring more features and good working cam at base, instead of fimware updated that fix issues and bring features that other already got with the camera. If Pana/Oly were APS-C cams, Fuji would stay at the end of competition regarding what it offers. Fuji must try hard now to take again my money for a cam, especially with “Pro” name. I am affraid what new X-Trans will bring, I found the newer FUji CAF, the worse one. X-Pro1 has great colours, X-T1 worse and more arifical, if X-Pro2 will render colour like X-T2, no buy for me. I would pay extra $300 for Bayer CAF, like X-A1 has.

That APS-X rumor sure is exciting. Has that rumor come up more than once or by multiple sources?
just one time. still unconfirmed. low rating. A guy called joofei shared that first on a Chinese Forum (and he shared a lot of other stuff), but all the verifiable rumors he shared so far werre wrong
What about FF? I got the impression in this sentence about the coming 35/2:
Whether you prefer to shoot wide angle or standard angle of view, this lens is definitely to look out for. Stay tuned for its size, performance, and image quality, soon to come in 2015.

I don’t get the impression this sentence indicates anything about FF
Wide angle OR standard with the same lens? To get that you need to use two different cameras with two different size i sensor. aps-c and aps-x (or ff)?
Well it definitely has WiFi, not that it should come as a surprise given the rest of the Fuji lineup.
What does “will come in January” mean exactly? Will X-Pro2 be announced in January or will it actually be available for purchase in January?
Hopefully it is not the old Sony IMX193. IMX271 with a right processor could be OK, although not exciting, especially if not encumbered with X-Trans.
Needs IBIS to keep up with the big dogs. Not to mention a better battery and vastly improved autofocus (-4 lowlight)
IBIS & battery don’t get along very well 😉
…but it sure would be nice 🙂
Big boys? You mean Nikon and Canon?
I would like more AF points and PDAF on all of them.
1/8000 shutter speed is great. I tried shooting with ES wide open on a bright day and got a few warped shots due to rolling shutter.
Better low light capabilities compared to current X-T1.
Multi-Aspect Ratio Sensor would be nice. I do hate having to be confined to 2:3 ratio, especially for print.
I’m not asking much for the xpro2. I don’t need higher megapixels. The IQ is still amazing. Of course since it’s a new camera, I would assume they would try to improve the IQ a bit, at least in the low light performance. If the XPro 2 has the first two features I listed, I would probably get it. If it has all 4, I would probably buy it immediately.
the new Leica SL was announced today and that first had it’s name registered with Taiwan’s certification board. Since the registration, Leica fans have been eagerly awaiting confirmation of specs, whilst speculating about what the specs may be. Today the new Leica was officially announced.
I really, REALLY hope the XP2 isn’t as underwhelming and “WTF were they thinking?” as the new Leica has turned out to be!!
Hmm, the Leica camera looks pretty darn good to me. Dual card slots. And little more camera to hold than the A7 series.
Fair dos, but my point was that most people were expecting a ICL Leica Q or a EVF only M, and it turns out to be kind of a baby S, so lets hope what everyone is expecting/hoping for the XP2 is on par with those hopes and expectations….
And this turns into another, MY camera wish list thread
Believe it when I see it. I gave up waiting on an XPro2 over a year ago.
I went to get my X100s fixed at my local FujiFilm repair office in VN yesterday and the girl I dealt with all but directly confirmed this rumour when I caught her out by saying I wasn’t happy with paying a $400 repair fee when I’m going to upgrade to the X-Pro 2 – she smiled and I double checked, “it is out in mid January right?” she laughed and said yes but couldn’t confirm the price.. so it is happening.
