“Tipa” (типа) in Russian means “kinda, sorta”. Just sayin’ 🙂
Well that is interesting indeed.
That deserves a “lol”
Well deserved Fuji!
In the years this institution has lost any credibility. Their only worry is to give a prize to everybody in the industry.
You mean they had credibility at some point? Oh well if it makes the industry happy, a little pat on the back for some product a bunch of people worked their ass off for to design and put to market, indeed they deserve it .. so far it doesn’t seem to cost us anything extra. ^.^
Keep making up new categories, TIPA. Then every new release from every manufacturer is guaranteed to win an award, and that way the advertising revenue can continue to flow.
The TIPA awards! Where EVERYONE i guaranteed a prize!
I don’t see compacts from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, or Sony winning prizes.
The objective is not the product, but the company. They want to award to as many different companies as possible so that they get advertising revenue from the companies using their logo in their ads. If Burger King submitted a broomstick and said it was a selfie stick, TIPA would create a new product category “Most innovative Selfie Stick” and award it to BK!
Sure, but Olympus received one award, and Fuji 3. Even in such an “everyone wins a prize!” environment, that’s either damning of Olympus or high praise for Fuji. Even more amazing is that the X30 won, when most online commentary I saw upon its launch was overwhelmingly negative. I mean, look, they could have just handed the X100T an award and satisfied their quota, but that’s not what they did.
and to celebrate the Triple every current Fujifilm-owner can select one of the award-winners for free!!! …? 😉
I don’t know about this. I’m a big Fuji fan and even own the X100T. But the X30? A warmed-over design from the X10 and X20 with the same two-thirds sensor inside a body now big enough for a one-inch sensor? I’m sure X30 holds its own against the competiton in the real world. But award winning?
