The Spanish site dslrmagazine just posted its hands on review on the Zeiss Tuoit 50mm macro lens for your Fuji X-camera (with 1:1 ratio) here (translation). “Below are some samples taken with a final version of Touit 50 Macro mounted on a Fujifilm X-E1 body, incorporating a sensor X-Trans “old” generation without phase detection pixels. The images are taken at different apertures (f / 2.8 f / 5,6), the last three shots are 1:1. ”
You can pre-order it at BHphoto.
For Fujinon lovers, almost the entire XF-line is now very cheap due Fuji’s latest deal-attack. I read of German FR-readers, who order them in the States and pay shipping and taxes on it… and apparently it’s still cheaper than in Europe! Anyone out there who can confirm it?
[UDPATE: arkona said in the comments: “@patrick I live in Germany and ordered the 55-200 last week from amazon.com. I paid $453 for the lens + $138 import taxes and shipping, so thatβs currently 432β¬. The lowest price I could find in Germany is 628β¬, so I saved about 200β¬ π With the current deals in the US, the prices without taxes and shipping are 50% of the MSRP in Europe. Itβs absolutely insane.“]

Too expensive!

this is crazy! Now I’m tempted to buy it too.
wow! thats good to know…
It’s gonna be time that this kind of deals are coming to the Netherlands too, So come on Kamera Express.nl, Camera.nl and the like, where are you ?
I asked Fuji If they would have some actions in the Netherlands as well, and this is what they say:
Geachte klant,

Echt, never nooit bij camera.nl kopen. Die winkel is de top van slechte service voor en na verkoop. Niet te verwarren met cameranu, die zijn top. π
Goed te weten. Bedankt MJr en Starred !
I’ve calculated what this lens (XF 55-200) would cost for someone in the Netherlands.
Lens + shipping: β¬ 424,07
Import costs: β¬ 17,81
Dutch taxes (21%): β¬ 92,79
————————————————–
Total price: β¬ 547,67
This lens costs β¬ 679,- in the Netherlands so you’re saving about 130 euros but I guess you won’t have warranty here in Europe so that’s something you have to think about.
ok guys, i did it too. i ordered the 14mm and the 55-200mm from amazon.com.
compared to amazon.de i am saving almost 500 β¬…
Fuji warranties are international. IIRC.
I bought a 27mm f/2.8 from Amazon for around 950 PLN (230 euro) with all the shipping costs, duty and tax included. In Poland it costs around 1850 PLN (440 euro), so it was a no brainer π Will have to wait around a month for it though – all the lenses that were in stock at Amazon sold out in a few hours. Currently they are showing 3-5 weeks (when buying from Amazon) for delivery and the price went up to 250 USD (I got it for 200). By the way, I ordered a 39mm c-pl filter for it – Cokin Pure Harmonie for around 35 euro, much cheaper than in US. It seems it is a rare situation when something is cheaper in Europe π
I’m in the U.K, and I purchased the XF 60mm Macro from Amazon.com (via this site, least I could do).
I got it for Β£216 (currently around Β£465, not including cashback) which makes it a ridiculously good deal.
I’m shipping it to my brother in Wisconcin, whom will then ship to me as a belated birthday gift π
I didn’t realise you could buy them from the uk and have them sent to here, in that case it’s a really tempting buy for me too.
Flying them in from the states is cheaper than 2nd hand fujinons here in Singapore. Getting one soon!
Its weird i live in Philippines and i dont know whats wrong or right but the prices for the Lenses here are quite cheap brand new. Im just using XE currency converter. The Prices in peso are the actual store prices, some stores if you pay cash you can get further discounts. Not sure why there so cheap the prices have been like this since 2013 too, but its much better buying here than in my home country of UK – Im getting my X-T1 here shortly too π
XF14mm F2.8R- P31500 = $706 – Good Deal
XF18MM F2R- P22000 = $493 – pretty good
XF27MM F2.8- P20000 = $448 – not so
XF23mmF1.4 R- P37500 = $840 – + $140
XF35MM F1.4 R- P22000 = $493 – pretty good
XF60MM F2.4 R MACRO- P24000 = $538 – + $138
XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS- P26500 = $594
XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 LM R- P29500 = $661
I get a lot better value from a Minolta MD 50mm 1:1 macro with adapter. Sharp manual focus. Sure, it extends and is a tiny bit slower but for $75 with adapter I’m quite happy! And you don’t need AF for macro.
Does this lens have image stabilization? Like Fuji or Nikon’s VR, Canon,s IS, or Pana’s power OIS?
If I’m not mistaken, Zeiss doesn’t have any optical stabilization system. Zeiss’s optic is exceptional unquestionably, but the lack of stabilization from both body and lens is big disadvantage for macro. IMO, olympus OMD is more interesting for macro jobs. Its internal 5-axis IBIS works greatly with every SLR or legacy macro lens.
Its pretty easy to do the math regarding the lens deals. Its always a lot cheaper to buy in the states currently than in most (if not all) european countries.
I (living in germany)just ordered the 60mm from adorama (of course with the FR link) and saved about 180 EUR. And yes, i paid shipping, taxes and customs expenses.
