    1. Yes – I have them. They fit quite tightly, and the locking mechanism is a bit strange, but they do work. They 10mm I have fits better than the 16. I would like to compare though – do the fuji ones have _any_ electronics in them? The viltrox ones pass the signals straight through. I’m guessing I’d have a lot more confidence using the Fuji ones, but I can’t see the $99 each value in them unless they do some real magic. I paid less than $50 for the pair.

      1. 200$ is brazenly much for some plastic and a bit of metal for the mount and pins for singal transmission imo.

Since there is no glass in any tube or anything in the way of the light, nothing can influence the image quality, hence there is zero reason not to get some from your chinese takeaway and save 3/4 of the costs!!

  1. Will definitely be ordering the 11. Nice to have tubes again. Can enable some great capabilities with longer lenses and not just for closer macro. Going for the 11 because it should allow for a more usable focus range with closeup capability on something like the 55-200 and the max magnification difference on the 60mm is minimal between the two. Will be interesting to see how the 56/1.2 works at really close focusing wide open. Some neat things could be done creatively with that.

      1. The 16 will get you closer. If you want max magnification, the 16 (or both stacked) will get you closer. Thing is, the longer the extension, the further from infinity the lens will be able to focus as well. So, with a 16mm extension, you might be able to focus from a few inches to, say a foot or two, while the 11 might be 6 inches to 3 feet. All of the numbers here depend on the lens. So with the 55-200, you might be able to get 1:2 magnification at the wide end, but at the telephoto end, you just get nice closeup capabilities but still have the ability for headshot portraits.

  2. For someone who has never used extension tubes before, is there any reason not to get the 16 for use with the 35/1.4 and eventually the 18-55?
