That issues has been fixed: “The phenomenon is fixed that in rare cases a grainy image like TV fuzz could appear on LCD under a certain shooting condition.”
The X100S is still sold out at Amazon US (3-4weeks delivery). It is in Stock in UK at [shoplink 12597 ebay]CameraCentre eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

Oh! When gonna be some updated for X100 old one?!
i wouldn’t hold your breath….
Never even noticed??? In a way like the previous update… Probably won’t update then as not to mess with what wasn’t even an issue yet… God only knows what might pop up potentially as nasty little surprises not asked for ;o)
It is very common for camera manufacturers to slip in bug fixes, minor improvement or fix things that they didn’t want you to know was wrong to begin with. I would not skip a firmware update simply because the things that were fixed aren’t important to you.
hi ej.
my point is that im pretty happy with how it works now…. as you say it’s common to slip in bug fixes but then ‘they’ might as well introduce new and unforeseen ones as well in these intermediate fixes… this surely wouldn’t have been a 1st one off;o) – been updating to many electronic devices over the years to simply update for the sake of update;o) – cameras not excepted… remember the glitches people were experiencing the last time around when tryin’ to download/install cached older versions? not fujis fault as such but probably people being overly eager-ish to get that newest version into their toys;o)

Oh yeah, always wait a week or two to make sure the update isn’t pulled due to some sort of new bug but after that I generally recommend for people to do the updates.
Sold out is a misrepresentation. This camera has never been in stock at most US camera retailers. If you want one of these in the US you have to get it from overseas and Fuji claims that your warranty is void when you do that. Fuji is creating a lot of bad blood in one of the largest markets in the world. Major online places are told that they will get a large delivery on certain dates and it never arrives, in some cases for months now. Fuji says that the mirrorless segment is just not as popular in the US but how can it be when you don’t ship any cameras to the US. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Don’t feel too hard done by – there’s next to no stock in the uk at the moment either…when they look back in 12 mths time and see how many Nikon a’s and Ricoh’s have sold to customers who WOULD have bought the x100s IF they could have gotten hold of one, I hope that someone in Fuji gets a slap and is made to fall on their sword – hara-kiri style…
Happen to me ..one time!
I remember these steps:
1. shooting in JPG
2. switch to “Dynamic Range” mode (before was bracketing iso or DR)
3. take a picture shot
4. “play” pics in view finder with red light writing on (slow sd card inserted :-()
5 then play on lcd
6. semipress push button in order to take another picture
6. tv fuzz …all commands stops
7. turn off – nothing tv fuzz on lcd
8. remove battery
9. reinsert
10. turn on
11 all goes ok!
other informations
it was a raining day, cold, low battery
I never used slow SD card after this crash! (category 4) 🙂 Now all it’s ok
…now i’m going to update my firmware
Great news on the firmware update.
If only I could get the darn camera that I ordered 47 days ago I would definitely update …
🙁
Only 47 days, you are still in the early innings 😉
Yeah …
I may just cancel the order. I wanted it for a trip I’m leaving for in three weeks.
I strongly doubt I can receive it in time for that.
Huge disappointment …!
Just updated, I swear my X100s focus’s nearly twice as fast in low light!!!
Is is a joke? The announcement doesn’t mention anything else…
This update will stay in quaranteen for the next 6-7 days to me. My main issue – the battery indication seems to be a big hardware misconception: fully charged battery measures 4.2V. You have to discharge it all the way down to 3.55V to lose one line of indication, then at 3.51V is another step, while many other hardware consider 3.6V as already empty. I guess, Fuji did not include the proper battery-measure circuit. (First step I would set around 3.9V, second at 3.7V, but nobody asked me.)
Anyone travelling to Thailand can pick up the X100s for 39,990 baht (US$1,300) at Big Camera MBK, I was playing with one there today.
