I’d be very tempted by a digital “Texas-Leica” but I cannot see this happening…
As much as I love the GW690iii, the so-called Texas Leica, but it’s an inexpensive, zero-comfort type of camera. I think I spent 400 bucks for it. And it can do just one thing: click. No metering, no AF, no nothing. Oh yeah, you can use it as a wheel stopper if you live in San Francisco.
The digital version of this type of camera would cost $50,000, that is $49,800 for the 6x9cm sensor, and $200 for the body. Zero comfort. Zero AF. Zero shit. It’s pro.

In fact, I have a Mamyia 6 which is a fair bit more practical than a Texas Leica. I also regularly use a digital rangefinder so I’m not scared about manual focus.
But you’re right, unless there is a breakthrough in large sensor technology and cost, I probably would not want to pay the cost of a digital MF camera… and lenses.

I wish I could get a digital back for my ETRS, no need for it to be Mega Mega Pixels, but a reasonably sized photosite for very quiet images.
Stupid, like the most of the rumors. I´m disapointed about fuji´s product-strategy. the same camera, 5 names and all the same rubbish… Lame… Never ever a medium format
Well, geeze, you could make the same comment about Nikon, Canon, and Sony. Nobody’s every happy and all of these camera companies are just making rubbish? I don’t know how any of us photographers get anything done. LOL.
I have already seen the Fuji Medium Format Camera on TV , a few weeks ago, on a test tour in a cold area.
Why remove always my comments, now again about the Medium Fuji.

the MF Fuji has already been on TV a few weeks ago on a “Cold” test journey in an icy area and there were shown GREAT, GREAT Pictures.
