Camera of the year 2012? Stuff UK says: “Fuji X-10”

Very good JPEG quality, impressive dynamic range and noise performance, fast, sharp, excellent in-camera raw conversion, good handling, bright optical viewfinder… this are just some of the PROS that dpreview (click here) noted about this camera. Dpreview says that the “X10 offers much to like for those who are willing to sacrifice pocketability for external controls. As such, it easily earns our Silver award.” Read the Stuff.tv review here, according to them it’s the “best advanced compact around, and a retro-tastic joy to use.” The X-10 beats also the Olympus OM-D E-M5, Canon EOS 650D, and, yes, even the Sony NEX-7. 1. Sure ok, why not. Don’t know how it’s even related to any of the other cameras mentioned tho. Maybe because they all take photos ? Genius.

  2. I personnally have a Fuji X10 and an Olympus OMD EM5.

I had a great experience with the Fuji X10 but I’m seeling it for the following reasons :

    Main concern : 28-112 is not enough Fuji : I need 24-240.
At 112 I’m still to close to birds and peole’s faces.

f/2.0-2.8 is really nice, I’d like a push down to f/1.4-2.0 or f/1.4-2.8.
And as the sensor is already pretty big, now Sony RX100 has shown us even better.

Fuji, for the X20, please :

Same design, same buttons, all the same. Maybe a very little thinner and wider.

    for the changes :
Bigger sensor size like Sony’ RX100,
Wider optical range : 24-240mm f/1.4-2.8 for example. 200mm minimum.

Replace the stupid optical viewfinder by an electronic one, like on Panasonic G3, should be enough.

Do something about the lens cap : at least a cord to attach it.

Make some lens converters like there is for other cameras / lenses : a telephoto x1.4 or x2, a wide angle, a fish eye. Pocketable.

Keep that super macro feature. It’s great.
    Buy Olympus’s OMD’s stab! (joking)

    Cheers from France!
