An update about the FW rumor posted earlier here: an anonymous source confirms that there will be a new Firmware Ver. 4.0 for the X-T1.
With this new firmware X-T1 owners will enjoy a faster AF-speed! The source also says that, with ver. 4.0, it will be like “holding a completely new camera in your hands“. I’m not sure if this refers just to the improved AF performance or if there will be more improvements. In any case, I don’t envy those who write the X-T1 manual… and have to rewrite it continuously :).

And for X-E2 ?
for now sources just told me about the X-T1
Or that other Fujifilm flagship: the X-Pro1. Starting to feel a bit left in the cold here…
It probably isn’t profitable for them to do it for the E2. It’s a guess but I suspect there are two factors at work: the E2 hasn’t sold nearly as well as the T1 and the internal hardware may be more different than we originally thought. Unless there is a tear down somewhere comparing them that I haven’t seen.
I’m looking forward to seeing this new firmware but hope that my other camera (I have both E2 and T1) gets some more love.
The xe2 is significantly cheaper also, so I think it’s fair that the xt gets the updates (this is coming from someone who is about the purchase the xe2 or xt10…)
My guess is they just don’t have the hardware in camera just like nwcs said To REWORK every camera they have. Some say we just Beta test for them ;^) but for a compny that started from scratch I think they did well.
It could also be that the X-T1 sells so much better than the X-E2 because of all the features they haven’t bothered to add to the X-E2. If the X-E3 is still a ways off, I would think upgrading the X-E2 would be a good move for them, to keep it competitive with the newer cameras from other brands that have come out in the past year.
Probably not. It sold better than the E2 right from the beginning. I still would like an update for the E2, after all I do own both. I just don’t expect as much for the E2. At some point it is financially and resourcefully burdensome for Fuji to update all the current cameras all the time. What would be good for everyone is for them to publicly set a clear expectation for after-sales support.
True, but the X-T1 did have significant advantages over the X-E2 even at release. However, the gap between the two cameras has just increased as the X-T1 keep getting more features that the X-E2 hasn’t been getting, even though both are the latest cameras in their respective level.
There were rumors that Fuji should only do “little Kaizen” in the future (for older camera types). Maybe that future is today and that Kaizen for X_E camera’s has stopped now. I don’t hope so.
I had not realized that my X-E2 is such an old gear!
The X-E2 was announced 18 October 2013; I pre-ordered mine in November, and got it mid December 2013; X-E2 was the top of the X series than, for about … 6 weeks: X-T1 was announced 28 January 2014!
I do not think that X-T1 hardware is significantly different from X-E2.
Please KaiZen (AF speed and accuracy / View-mode toggle / +-2 +-3EV bracketing / …) or open source “Magic Lantern” (http://www.magiclantern.fm/) like firmware.
I guess X-E2 is a “new” camera till X-E3 be in the market. I bought Fuji, among other reasons, because it´s upgrades. Now Fuji can´t affort what promissed? Too bad for them! I understand, that T1 reports more benefits, but I can´t understand that they abandon other X users. X-E2 still has a long way to run.
WHAT?
Fuji gave us better focusing, focus peaking and classic chrome, and you’re whining? Fuji didn’t have to give us one single upgrade!
Stop standing there with your hand out, NONE of these camera companies have to give you ANYTHING. We should be thankfull for the updates that we got, for FREE.
Wait, I almost forgot, this is the internet, people complain just because….
Well, I’m hoping to upgrade from my XE2 to a XT1 this weekend. So I’ll be looking forward to the upgrade.
Be kai-ZEN my friend!
None of this camera companies sold “Kaizen” as a special company feature, but Fuji.
Being said that, I´m thankfull for the upgrades, of course I am, and proud of my E2. However, forgive me if I think that my camera is not an old one and it deserve a little more, but only because Fuji promiss/sold that
I hope you enjoy your new XT1.
I have both the E2 and T1, I love the technical facets of the T1 but am inspired by the physical facets of the E2. In truth, other than perking up the focus speed as a nice thing to have, the E2 NEEDS to have its viewing mode fixed. This should be an easy thing to do in firmware, even if I had to dedicate one Fn to viewing on screen. Otherwise, the E2 is a thing of beauty to hold and use, hell I want to shoot just looking at it! I have 100’s of shots of my coffee table lol…
To Patrick and Fuji, thanks for helping to put fun and function back into photography!
So…it is going to drain its battery faster than before, then?
Ok, that means the X-Pro2 is about to get the Turbo Acceleration Neutron Speed Boost right from day one. That’s good.
X-T1 now for fast sports too with that new Turbo Engine ? I mean this is a major upgrade from 3.1 to 4.0 not just a tiny incremental one .
Like the source said : it will be like “holding a completely new camera in your hands“. So there’s more in it than just better AF speed. That’s promising ! At least it should now be as fast focussing like the E-M1.
3.1 game me electronic shutter; loved that! and I’m starting to like manual focusing my X-T1. It would be really great if they’d give us focus ring ratio adjustability for those of us who like MF.
Ehhhh I just sold my XT-1… yesterday.
Consider the reason(s) that made you sell. They may still be valid. or may be not you won’t know until the firmware 4.0 is out.
If only would Fuji put a decent bayer sensor in XT1 . It will be the perfect camera for pretty much everything except sports/wildlife. They have been recycling the same sensor since Xpro1
Interesting. I’ve been thinking about all the cameras I’ve owned (I currently have a X-T1, Sony a6000 and Nikon Df…and various mirrorless and DSLR before these)…and I keep coming back to the thought that the X-T1 is the most complete system I’ve owned so far. Meaning – It has the basic video functions to meet my needs, great still image quality, great native lens lineup and a very good/useful set of manual controls and menu options. Every camera I’ve owned has always been missing something I want (that’s just how it is), but the X-T1 has so far left me feeling like I’m missing out on the LEAST amount of features/functions/quality.
Things I wished the X-T1 had. Touchscreen (and touch to focus). Dual SD card slots. Olympus type 5-axis IBIS. Lower pricing on the lenses (however, their build quality offsets the higher prices a bit).
Pricing of the lens is not a feature of the body, but I guess you knew that already 🙂
Touch to focus is available via the Remote App – Not ideal but useful
If you need that stuff that badly, get an Olympus. I feel the FujiX system has the best compromise of features and image quality. And I’m coming from a GX7 and 6D.
Im coming from a 6D too and have an Xt1. But Olympus wins to me.
Sure, the Olympus has a touchscreen, ibis and lens selection is slightly larger, But it’s IQ is no where close to Fuji’s. Especially in low light and DR. Shooting in Manhattan after work, I can see the difference in my M43 pics compared to my Fuji ones. Much more detail and much less noise. After 6:00, noise shows up on a M43 sensor at iso 200!
Mmmm …. none of these are relevant for me and would add weight and increase battery consumption. I really hope they will not introduce them ever, sorry R Leung! Lower price on lenses is going to be difficult …. they have lower price and better or equivalent quality of other top quality lenses (e.g. Zeiss).
Just because it’s not relevant to you doesn’t mean it’s not wanted by others. These features would make the camera more desirable and increase sales. I’ve yet to see anyone asking that IBIS, touchscreen or dual card slots be removed out of the next version of a camera.
I would prefer that there is no IBIS or touch screen, because they increase weight, complexity and battery usage. In other words, you have just seen one person asking for it. Two cards is OK.
I feel the same way about my Olympus OMD. I had the Xt1 but if it had a bayer/speed and IBIS it would have knocked it out Olympus for the #1 spot.
I had the E-M1 for several months and it was great. Ultimately, I decided to keep the X-T1 as my main camera and I sold the E-M1. If the X-T1 had the in-body IS of the E-M1, that would be amazing. I’d like a touch screen also for selecting the focus point.
I still don’t get the fuzz about IBIS. And shutter shock…
About the Bayer filter . no thanks, X-Trans makes Fuji unique
IBIS is great for old adapted lenses since basically all lens benefit from it.
That said OIS (or VR from Nikon) is IMHO superior as it is adapted for each lens – the drawback is that it had some weight and cost. To me it is no surprise that the 2 major players (Nikon & Canon) did not go the IBIS route.
I really like the output of X Trans and the IBIS would add weight and reduce battery life. I really hope Fuji will stick with X Trans and not implement IBIS, apologies. I think IS should be only put on lenses where it is really, really necessary and nowhere else (e.g. 50 -140). I need a very lightweight kit.
It would be nice if they’d port some of this mojo to the X100T.
+1 on this one. AF is good, not great. Or let me put it this way: there is still a lot of potential.
Is the x100s not get any further updates? Does anyone know of any news?
no, Fuji wants you to sell it or throw it away. No updates in the future, that means your camera had turned completely useless. sorry.
oh, what a great comment, you are so smart!. he was just about to throw it away… or wait? was he? all he asked was if there are new updates planned for x100s. seems like a fair question knowing fuji reputation in this field… I am perfectly happy with my x100s but still would welcome some softwere updates if possible… and no, no some film simulation but usefull things…
no, Fuji wants you to use the camera. It didn’t spontaneously combust.
Come on, nwcs, I know you got the joke 🙂
Honestly, I did about 10 minutes after I posted it. I’m running slow today. 🙂
Very good news, I love it !
Sony have a new 24mp apsc sensor that is capable of 19fps!!! Must have s fast readout for video also. Perhaps this could be the sensor used in the xt2/xpro2…?
Fuji is trying to win new customers and hold their current sales. End of story. Thereby, increasing sales by the concept of repeat cycle sales and customer loyalty to its prroceeds. Good job fuji
You can’t have your cake and eat it! Time to buy a couple of spare batteries
The update will be called XPRO2. The XPro1 had it’s share of upgrades and updates. Fuji can’t keep upgrading the whole lineup for a mix of financial and technical reasons I suspect.
If this AF firmware is a great improvement, it may mean the difference between me buying the Nikkor 70-200mm f4 for my nikon, or the 50-140mm for my X-T1…
Some reviewers have compared the 50-140 to the 70-200 2.8! and as far as AF speed is concerned I don’t remember hearing anything but good things. Just my 0.02€
Oh I’m not worried about the lens, its amazing. I’m more concerned with camera AF speed and tracking which is the clincher!
Sorry I was not clear, I seem to remember commented that the AF was the fastest they ever experienced on any Fuji X bodie, thanks to the linear motors inside the lens.
It is the fastest ever, for a Fuji. Tracking still isn’t up to par with DSLR’s though, so any improvement is more than welcome.
If this turns out as expected it will be a great day for X-T1 owners.
good news, I will try it with 50-140 and 16-55 (before..and after)
AF will be like “holding a completely new camera in your hands“… only if it will focus down to -2EV at least to improve poor performance in low light of X-T1 with current 0EV AF sensitivity. Will it? Or 0EV stays the same? Panasonic, Olympus, Nikon focus down to even -4EV, when Fuji will do?
Hey George, long time I did not get the pleasure to read your -2EV -4EV timeless complaint. You’ve not yet managed yet to take those pictures of two black cats fighting in a coal mine then, shame I was looking forward to seeing them 🙂
Hey Didiergm, you should rather want first to see these many cams form Panasonic, Olympus, Nikon, Sony that outperform Fuji in AF performance including low light, then pics of two fighting black cats you ask for. You would be amazed how i.e GX-7 with CDAF only focuses compared to X-T1. But it seems you do not expect much from your Fuji.
I had a Nikon D2Hs & D3 and rented a D4 (aka “the Lord of Darkness” at the time) for a while. So I know what you’re talking about and won’t be amazed. And when there are catfights in coal mines I use MF, that’s also an option.
Fuji never sold me the X-T1 as being able to do this or that. There are plenty to read before you buy. After that I have learnt over the years to be happy and enjoy what I have got. On balance I much rather have this body for all it’s weaknesses rather than lug around 10kg of gear as I did up to 12 months ago.
Sony or Panasonic outperforms Fuji ? Excellent news for Sony at least they’re getting something right;
Does that stop me from doing what I love (ie taking pictures) no. Can’t AF in coal mines ? OK either enjoy the black cats fight or use MF
“Sony or Panasonic outperforms Fuji?” In AF performance yes.
On A6000 yes. No for A7 series.
I did it and I do have an XT1. I really could not have done it without [put the name of your last Sony body here, because I have lost track].
oh wow thanks for sharing Mr CT; That’s a hell of a fight!
I rather like the shades of black delicately displayed here pitch-black to dark-black with a hint of black-black ! Thanks to your [put the name of your last Sony body here, because I have lost track /too/], you could even enjoy the bipping sound made when the AF locks. Sony Rocks
ok, I am going back into my corner 🙂
one question: how do I notice if I am focusing (or not) at -4EV of if it is only -2EV?
I can focus really easily in manual or AF at -18EV on all that I can see.
I know. I had the EM1’s AF system fail on me in low light, same for DSLRs and the Fujis. Personally I did not notice much difference. and when it gets REALLY dark I switch to manual focus as you said.
My point was, that most here don’t even know what “focusing at -4EV” even means
I know not necessarily a good reference
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/ev.htm
look at the middle of the page
Basically -4EV is one EV above full moon lit scene
1 EV is Dark scenes outdoors at night …
Sooo…you’ve got the pictures of the two black cats fighting on the coal mine then?
Maybe the major Step in Firmware-Version finally also includes some improved flash-features (HSS, wireless TTL)?
+1 on the bracketing suggestions in the comments below. 1EV isn’t enough.
Also, Is it possible to improve low light AF sensitivity with a firmware upgrade or is it tied to the sensor?
I’m thinking of getting the 50-140 for some sports, any improvement in AF speed would help my decision 🙂
I guess (stress guess) that the low light AF sensitivity is rooted in the sensor. That said newer algorithms could help but I would not bet the farm on it.
Thanks! I think so too.
Actually the PD pixel sensitivity might be rooted in the sensor. But since they stop being used in low light they should be able to improve it. CDAF is only dependent on processing pipeline and software.
You’re right but the processing pipeline is probably deeply hardware dependent too (most notably it’s speed). That leaves us only with software. Depends how big a role it plays in the whole AF routine. We’ll know soon enough (joking, I can’t wait 🙂 )
Yep, it might not be the fastest but focusing at all in lower light would already be appreciated. And I really hope Fuji wasn’t that short-sighted when designing the processing pipeline that they now have no more room to wiggle.
No need for bracketing.
You can do single shot HDR with any Fuji x-series.
Your camera has an ISOless sensor.
Which means all exposures are derived from one fixed starting point no matter what setting for exposure speed and ISO.
Just make a set of virtual copiesof your original file.
Then underexpose some and over expose some of your virtual copies and you will create the same HDR image as you would have made by making three separate shots.
You are right!!!! Thanks a lot. I did not think about that …. have you tried it before? Do you have any example?
That’s not right.
If you bracketed using ISO it would be true. But bracketing is usually done via shutter speed on a tripod using base ISO for every exposure. Big difference!
The isoless sensor is great for many things but if you use one exposure for exposure blending (or HDR) you will still need to push the shadows and increase noise. Better to expose every part of the image correctly and get the best image quality.
This is a good read about what ISOless photography with an x-camera is.
http://fujilove.com/isoless-photography-with-the-fujifilm-x-series/
There is no real difference in how you obtain your goal. Bracketing for exposure or bracketing via ISO will in the end be different, but still give you the same result, even image quality.
Peter, I know what it is and I’ve even read that article. Stil, bracketing via ISO is not the same as bracketing via shutter speed. There’s a huge quality difference. You seem to be confusing two things here.
Jano is right, HDR is best done by bracketing via shutter speed, on a tripod, at the same/lowest ISO possible for each shot.
For the heck of it, while on assignment I tried using the xt1 for sports (NHL) and gotta be honest, the EVF lag makes it VERY hard to track anything fast moving (unless coming straight at you). AF hit rate was pretty abysmal as well. It’s probably ok if missing shots isn’t a deal killer.
It could be that fuji releases a new camera with better af on that date. And in fuji manner, they will update af of xt1 so the owners of the top fuji camera are not angry that newer cheaper camera has better af. Just my logical thinking. As for fw wishes, my wish is to be able to use AE LOCK and face recognition at the same time, every other mfr has it available Fuji is the only one who makes u disable face recognition before ae lock starts working. That should be easy to make in a firmware
buzzkill….:)
Thanks for the great news. I have my new X-T1 + XF 16-55mm F2.8. Very happy and even happier with each and every update.
Again?! Why are x100s users left out in the cold. I mean we are at v. 1.20, and none of the updates has had any significant impact on the camera.
How often does one need to say that X100s is EOL?
X100s even though its an x-series camera isn’t a interchangeable lens system. Its more of an luxury point and shoot.
Besides it has had its upgrades in the past. Didn’t it?
love how people defend fuji’s backsliding
It would only be backsliding if Fuji made specific promises. They’re doing what any good business would do: making adjustments that further the interests of the business. Many times that benefits the consumer, sometimes not.
Important point, following on to yours: many times that harms the consumer, and Fuji isn’t harming anyone by not adding new features to X-so-and-so.
(Spoken as an owner of an X10 and X-S1, who would love one or two additional features, but won’t get them. :-()
it was a tactic. gotta love marketing
Luxury point & shoot? It’s a work tool for some people. I was hired to do a week-long documentary work based on my x100t portfolio. I’ve been using it for 90% of my shots, 2 more days to go. And it’s a massive project, with access to some of the coolest places of the city, including it’s tallest tower.
Though I got the x100t, I really don’t see the reason for Fuji not giving Classic Chrome to x100s users especially when it’s trivial to implement.
x100s is a nice camera as is but it’s not going to get more updates. Learn to live it with it. No need to keep complaining unless you just like to hear yourself blather on.
Of what I heard, but whom am I…
In total 10 new features will be added.
There will also be additions to HSS for flash in TTL mode.
This is in preparation to a new Fuji Flash System.
interesting… feel free to drop me an email at fujirumor@gmail.com… and talk about it
I can’t as I only have my info from second hand.
But if true one of your more reliable sources should be able to tell if this particular feature update is correct.
I know it doesn’t have the PDAF points, but I don’t see why we can’t some better AF object tracking across the frame. My little Canon S120 compact can do various tracking and AF modes that the X-T1 doesn’t do.
I am really looking forward. 3.1 was very good and improved ergonomics tht were already excellent. I would love to be able to set Macro mode by pressing briefly one button even when I am using the pads to move the focus point. I hope it will be possible!
I set the macro option to the front function button. So that gets me pretty close to what you’re looking for.
Thanks! How do you do that? and where did you move the menu that wa son the front function button?
long press the front function button, you have access to a series of options. (that’s how you program any function button)
Also through the menu. BUTTON/DIAL SETTING>FUNCTION (Fn) SETTING
One little thing I’ve thought of I’d like to see is the option for more controls/functions to be toggles rather than bringing up menus first.
So far I’m happy with the X-T1 (as well as my X-pro1), faster AF is welcome of course. What I’d really like to see is the possibility to alter file names like you can in the X-pro1 as well as adding copyright info embedded in the exifs.
Why would you need to add copyright embedded in the exifs.
People who want (to do wrong) can change it in LR while importing or they can use any other exif changer to change the data that you have entered in the camera.
But why add a step when it can be applied to all photos automatically by the camera. It’s a simple feature and beneficial.
So true, but it would be a nice touch, not a must have, as I already love these camera’s more than I have ever had with my previous Canon gear:-). More for my own lazyness in file storage, not for legal use though 🙂 Being able to change file names on x-t1’s would be nice, as it’s possible with the xp1, why not on the xt1. Atm I’m keeping the files apart by having my X-pro1 files differently named.
You can already set the X-T1 to name the file as you like (firmware 3.1) it’s under the Wrench menu 2, in Save Data Setup 😉
Whoops! Didn’t know! 🙂 Didn’t know it was hidden in there 🙂 Thanks!
If someone takes a file without Copyright info included they can still be charged with copyright infringement if they use the image without a licence but if they knowingly remove the copyright info, the penalty is far greater (In court). The level of damages received by the photographer will take into account “The Intent” to defraud him.
It’s kind of like saying “why would you need to lock your door when people can already break in through the windows”? Just added layer of protection!
I Second file naming. It would be nice for the camera to name files Date/Time
Did any of the more recent firmware updates enable the EV compensation dial when using Auto-ISO with manual Aperture and Shutter Speed? If not, maybe it’s on the list for 4.0?
No, that is not currently a feature.
Now THAT would be nice.
I hope all the hype doesn’t result in a major let-down.
this is the internet. The update could do all that was promised and more and people will still complain if the additional feature they want, but was never promised, isn’t included.
2 weeks to go. I am happy to see it coming.
Maybe the firmware signals that the “high performance mode” was just a placebo and will now be implemented?
🙂
the current XT1 focus speed is good enough , how about increase accuracy at low light? thats the current issue with XT1 , doesn’t matter how fast you can focus if you don’t focus accurately , its useless . especially with lenses like 56 1.2 and 23 1.4 under low light . not macro distance.
+1
For me it’s also the most improtant factor of AF improvement Fuji cameras desperately need. They are poor performers in low light AF and miss many shots.
George, you will keep missing them. There is a reason why my work is in 98 museums. Where is your work George? Where is the rest of the fondlers work over here at Fuji rumors?
Anyone ever listen to me? Instead Fuji forum bans me for calling a spade a spade…camera fondlers.
A big reason my work is in 98 museums George is my cams shoot when I want them to shoot. I don’t push the button and miss the shot George.
Learn how to make your cams shoot when you want George.

All the night shots are with a Fuji X-E1. And I mean it was super dark in the RLD. Do you think I got the night shots by hiring a fixer and playing dumb and fiddling with my camera and oops it just happens to go off?
You guys would have you ass pummeled in the ground in Amsterdam trying that crap.
How many museums did you say ?
Can you explain what a Museum is ? I am guessing something was lost in translation
Lol
“My work” me me me
I wonder… why are you here?
X-E1 did you say Dan? That’s highly unlikely. Everyone knows the X-E1 is obsolete. Heck, Fuji doesn’t even sell it anymore. This may seem hard for many to believe, but I suspect you were using the prototype X-Pro 3, not for release before 2018, which makes you a Fuji X Beta tester. That said, the message will be lost on most/all because of the attitude with which it was delivered. Trust me on that. I had to learn that the hard way.
Well, for all you camera fondlers Fuji’s AF is good enuf….isn’t it?
AF will never work right in the dark unless it has IR and warm bodies. Even then, AF is never going to match manual zone focus. It just cannot as a basic law of nature of its design. You guys will dream of it happening, but dreams is all you will get.
Fuji ….where is the Leica knockoff?
Daniel, you have a serious problem. You’re arrogant as hell, yet have no idea what you’re talking about and your work simply sucks. The only reason it’s in so many museums (it that is true) is probably that the red light district is something probably not many people photograph and that the museums are tiny and don’t pay you anything 😀
Oh, Daniel, you can zone focus with a fisheye? Wow, you have to explain to me how that’s possible, I always miss focus with mine because I’m a camera fondler who uses AF with it! And please elaborate on that zone focusing with the 56 1.2, I’d be really interested in seeing how you do that!
Patrick, please kick him out once again. He’s just here to diss others and trying to promote his crappy work. Because he’s so successful that he still needs to promote it. Ridiculous.
To be fair, his fisheye work is one of the best I’ve seen. The usage and composition is very well thought through and executed.
To me circular fisheyes will never be anything but a special effect that can be used once or twice during your career. The composition can be as good as it wants but if you overdo it it will still be like a PowerPoint presentation with too many effects: the content is lost in the distractions.
So if you like, then yes, the fisheye work is pretty good. I’d never ever put it in my museum though. Or on my wall for that matter.
Asking a site owner to kick people out you don’t like is even worse than arrogant.
Think of me whatever you want. There’s plenty of people here I don’t like much but I’ve never asked for them to be kicked out.
But Daniel is a different case. He’s just here to insult people and promote his own work. That’s not the point of comments.
You can ignore him also. That is an option you have. However you choose to ask the site owner to ban him. That is childish. Furthermore I don’t really agree on the insulting and his work is fine.
It’s not about me ignoring him. It’s about him in every comment repeating the same message that everyone here (except him of course) are camera fondlers and suck. What is “camera fondler” if not an insult?
And most of his posts are just him promoting his work as there is no connection between the (NSFW!) links to his work and the topic being discussed in the comments. That – dear Sjoerd – is a violation of the Disqus rules which – believe it or not – is enough reason to ban him.
His work is fine, yes, but not 98-museums-fine. And if it was as fine as he says he wouldn’t need to promote it here.
Whatever. He shows nice work and I have no clue on yours. You can choose to not debate with him and don’t check his postings. That is how the Internet works dear Jano..
Major new version means a major new feature. Lemme guess… A shortcut for formatting the SD card?
as long as it glows in the dark and works at -4EV it’s fine 🙂
As a matter of fact, the X-T1 does glow in the dark – under black light. You know, all these emanations from the people who dream of this little camera…
spooky 🙂
Ectoplasm, you know… 🙂
https://youtu.be/dkYugbZsyEs
Thank for reminding me; I’ll keep their number in my photo bag, in case …..
yes, auto formatting..during sensor cleaning.
I requested Fuji to add exposure bracketing of up to 7 or 9 frames. Heck it seems they could push a button to change that. I hope it’s coming sometime.
Now the real question. Will the firmware fix the high ISO skin smoothing issue?
no, that’s a deliberate feature, not a mistake.
The fact that the error is deliberate doesn’t make it less of a mistake.
Just get used to the xwax sensor.
i hope they also providing same firmware update for the X-E2 as it having the same sensor and same processor with X-T1 just with different form factor.
same sensor look lijely; same processor possible – but I don’t think we know that for a fact – as for the rest of the electronics that’s an unknown
It does also cost around 2/3rds of the xt1…
Agreed, fuji could definitively improve the hit or miss crappy AF of x-e2 and throw in some speed too.
Please forgive me this one off topic comment, but: *Please*, admin, you have some annoying spam script working on this web page which every few minutes forces my iPhone into the Appstore.
Get rid of it, and soon. This is highly annoying and chases away people from your web page. I know you have to pay for all of this, but not this way.
I’ve gotten used to this page looking like a giant sales event, but malicious spam scripts are a step too far. Remove it. Thank you.
On my girlfriends birthday!! Good job Fuji!!!
birthday with turbo!
Yeah, but please don’t give your girlfriend the turbo – like: “Finished! And sorry, but now I have to update my X-T1!” – speaks and runs out of the bedroom ….
X-T2 X-E2 analogy:
I’m afraid there will be an X-T2 announced on 18 October 2015.
You will pre-order yours in November 2015, and get it mid December 2015.
Your X-T2 will be the top of the X series than, for about … 6 weeks: The X-PRO2 will be announced 28 January 2016!
Compared to X-PRO2, there will be very little sales for X-T2. After one or two firmware upgrades they will stop KaiZen for the significantly cheaper X-T2!
So I will think twice before buying an X-T2, and I will certainly not pre-order one.
Lol just realized, the turbo boost button is from Knight Rider isn’t it.
And you can enable it with your iWatch 🙂
Of course it is, as someone who was born in 1975 I realized it immediately 😀 – now I feel like a nerd 😉
Yep 🙂
About turbo boost: I heard they also will overclock the processor by software toggle. You can turn it off if it’s gonna be too hot inside the box 🙂
We need more power Scott, Warp speed 9 ! engage Fujifilm
scoop: turbo firmware will permit to take a pics like a modern dslr….but.. only one by day. 🙂
If they can overclock the processor they would be able to get rid of the Moiree in video as well… 😉
That would be awesome! All you’d need is a 3rd party water cooling attachment.
Ok, so you deleted my comment, but that doesn’t change it: Your site or one of our 1000 advertisers is running a spam script which forces the iPhone browser into the app store.
Please change this. It sucks. You’re losing readers this way, and simply deleting comments pointing this out doesn’t make you any more likeable.
I didn’t delete the comments. I was at work, and had no time to approve comments. Now at lunch break I have time again. Please let your email be verified by disqus, and there won’t be any need to approve comments manually anymore.
that said, this is something I do not want on my blog, but it happens now and then again. I’ve written several angry emails to who manages the ads, that I do not want that script on FR. And I’ll do it again.
Sorry for the inconvenience… and again, create an account at disqus, and no manual approval is needed anymore
I can confirm that I get redirected to random apps from this site on my iPhone 5s 🙁
hm.. it’s fine on my iPhone 5. I’ll look into it. Could you please provide a screenshot?
100% agree. Fuji most certainly needs to address the weak exposure bracketing in the XT-1. If they can’t or don’t want to increase the number of exposures beyond 3 at least let us use an EV of 2 or 3 stops instead of just 1. Come on Fuji this should have been in FW 1.0.
And could you please send me a screenshot at fujirumor [at] gmail.com about this issue? Can’t duplicate it on my iPhone and it also seems to be deacrivated in the settings. Strange things going on
If they made a X-T2 which was just an X-T1 with the updated Firmware AND that knight rider Turbo boost switch, I’d buy it!
No too sure about the Knight Rider switch watch carefully, when engaged, all images are blurred 🙂
9? Why would you need so many?
I even start to think that this is marketing strategy of Fuji to let out the improvement bit by bit via firmware… Anyway I have to say Fuji currently has a very good team in product team and marketing team.
