2 new X series cameras could be announced on October 18!

[UDPATE: X-E1 successor confirmed by the trusted Japanese source. Read the first specs here]

Time for a rumor update, but first of all thanks. Thanks to all those readers who shared informations with Fujirumors. Keep it up!

And now the rumors 😉

In the last days I’ve received several rumors from new and/or anonymous sources. Now here is a summary for you:

– New sources told me that 2 new X cameras will be announced in October.
– Anonymous sources said that the X-E1 successor would feature the X-Trans II sensor of the X100S.
– xjrumo confirms the release date around October 20 as already rumored here. The precise date should be October 18! (src-xjrumo)

If true, this could mean that Fuji could make a double announcement on October 18. The X-E2/X-E1S and … ?

These information fits with what I’ve already told you from trusted sources: there will be 2 more X-cameras after the X-A1 this year.

You should definitely stay tuned for more these days and be follow FR on October 18.

Stay tuned on Fujirumors and spread the word via facebook, twitter and RSS feed.

cheers
Patrick

    1. Too soon for X100S’ successor, more likely a high end compact, hopefully, one with a bigger sensor, that would be a killer camera!

  1. One camera is clearly going to be the X-S2 with X-trans sensor like the X 20.
There is no way that Fuji will bring another 2 APS size cameras this year.

    1. it makes sense, although I’d prefer that old rumor about a X20 successor with a bigger sensor, but a X-S2 would seem more likely.

  2. Although unlikely, an X-E1S or X-ProS announcement would be pretty awesome. An X-S2 and/or X20S announcement seems more likely. Keep us updated, Patrick.

  3. If its X-e1s with 100s sensor, uprated sensor but not much else, then 2nd camera could be x-pro1s with same improvements.

      1. My gut tells me that the second X camera will be a X-Pro2/X-Pro1S released to counter the lower end NEX full frame for the holiday season..

    1. I don’t expect Fuji to release a FF camera in the near future. The X-E2 will come, and the second camera should not be FF

  4. Are there any events going on at the moment? I would of thought announcements are timed with events.

2014 of course will feature not only CeBit but Photokina, which is when I would expect new releases

  5. I’m probably going to sit this update out and get the 23mm 1.4 instead. Wife sees another Fuji camera and all hell going to break loose. It would be awesome if it looked just like the xe1 and trick my wife lol

    1. It would be nice and would makes sense…
Since XF1 was a commercial failure (now dealed at less than half of its original price), Fuji has a weakness to compete in the hi-end compact camera market…
But I don’t think it will have a 1″ sensor. For now, only Sony managed to put it in a really compact body for a nice price camera. The X20 sensor and a new lens maybe…

  6. if it’s X-E1 update with x-trans 2 then i would imagine the update will also translate to x-pro 1, so X-E1s and X-pro1s ? (too early for x-pro 2 and x-e2 i think)

  7. How cool would it be if they took the 1″ sensor of the RX100, slap the X colorfilter on it (instead of the bayer filter) and put that in a X20 like body with a 24-120mm (equiv.) lens?

  8. I was wondering if Fuji would be brave enough to bring out a B & W version, a bit like Leica did? It would mean that the IQ should be crazy and it would be a great way to get us buying more bodies, I mean, you’d still want a color version too. I think I’d buy one 🙂 Just thinking aloud.
