Double Sony A35 review.

[shoplink 7419][/shoplink]

There is a new double [shoplink 7419]Sony A35[/shoplink] review:

Photographyblog (Click here) says: “The area that we’re most impressed with is the noise performance. It’s a pet peeve so we were gushing over the higher ISO settings which showed little or no noise at all. The EXMOR sensor gives punchy primary colours but not so much that they look unrealistic. In fact, in some cases, we preferred how the Sony recorded the colours to what was in front of our eyes.”

AVhub (Click here) said about the A35: “It’s better featured than many of its rivals, nicely compact and hugely capable. The plus points are things Sony can obviously do well like the LCD monitor screen and the quality of the video recording, but from a photographic point-of-view this is a very likeable camera. It’s undoubtedly going to help Sony boost its market share.”

    1. I use A55, bought A33 to my wife, and recommended one of my friends to convert from Canon to Sony A35. He can’t thank me enough for that as he said A35 has load of useful features and extremely pleasant image quality unmatched by competitors’ at the same price. If one doesn’t have bias towards SLT technology, A35 to me is the best valued among the first entry DSLRs. Happy shooting! 🙂

        1. A35 without hesitation 🙂

I find the overheat issue on A33 and A55 more annoying especially during a bright, hot day in Thailand than shooting without tilt screen which I probably use 1-2% of the time and 99% it’s left flat in place. Plus A35’s sensor has been improved and superior to A33.

  1. Looks like a really nice little camera. Yes it’s entry level, but with some decent glass you have that fantastic sensor in there to put to work.

    1. 74 overall score on DXO – great result. Nikon D5100 (almost the same price) has just 67, and only 62 the 1100D has…

  2. Just added the Sony 35mm f1.8 to my SLT A35 bag and the results are (almost) breathtaking! Low light shots at 800 or even 1600 ISO have excellent IQ and color and no noise. HDR shots at 1.0 or 2.0 EV are unbelievable. Out-of-camera JPGs are so good that Photoshop is no longer necessary. I just love this camera! Light weight, easy to carry around. The only downside—EVF in very low light is jittery, but still very usable and I prefer it to the LCD. In “normal” light is excellent in every way—field of view, color, display info.

    1. It’s an amazing lens for the money. Build quality isn’t good, but it’s sharp and focuses in low light no problem. Bokeh isn’t bad either – not a zeiss, but not bad at all.
